Clemson makes move into top-5 of Coaches Poll |
Clemson took care of business while some other top-ranked teams faltered this weekend.
The Tigers’ 24-10 win over Georgia Tech plus upsets from No. 2 Penn State at the hands of No. 6 Ohio State (39-38) and No. 4 TCU at Iowa State (14-7) moved Clemson up to No. 5. Alabama, which had a bye week, maintained its spot atop of the poll, followed by Georgia, Ohio State and Wisconsin. The ACC's last unbeaten sits at No. 6 in Miami after they just slipped by UNC, 24-19. Clemson owns two wins over teams currently ranked in the Coaches top-15 in Virginia Tech (13) and Auburn (15) with a date at No. 19 NC State to come Saturday at 3:30 p.m. (ABC). The first College Football Playoff rankings are due around 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
