I hope they all get picked up even on a practice squad. Believe it's 250k for practice.

I hate it for kj Henry and JR. All will be ok because they got them a diploma. KJ would be a wonderful addition to our staff as a GA. His character is 2nd to none. I'll never forget him telling Dabo he WANTED to be redshirt. He waited his time and put in the work.

KJ’s commitment (and yes, it was a commitment) video told me all I needed to know about him. I have attached it for those who haven’t seen it. He was only 17 at the time he did this. He’s a great young man and a great Tiger!

He is one of the really loyal team players. But looking at all those guys released, there were some pretty good talents in that group, plus we still haven't heard anything what will become of Renfrow...

as good as they played for us, are just hanging around the fringes of the NFL. Dreading "Cut down day", and having to scuffle to find another landing spot to stretch out the time in football a little longer.

But, even so, there were a few surprises already. K.J. Henry goes from starting 3 games last year to not even making the roster this year? Tyler Shatley, a mainstay for the Jaguars, who played multiple positions across the offensive line, is also gone. Cornell Powell outlasts Justyn Ross in Kansas City. Tremayne Ancrum, who played in 31 games for the Rams since he was drafted.

And then, you have the real hope killers, the "Sign and Release" guys. Martavis Bryant, Tanner Muse, and although slightly different circumstances, Albert Huggins.

The NFL is a tough league to hang around in, even having "Alabama" next to your name doesn't make you immune to being a roster cut casualty. 12 of THEM bit the dust today as well.

Powell met the same fate as Ross in the 53-man roster announced this evening. https://www.chiefs.com/news/chiefs-announce-roster-moves-2024

So close. I hope he makes the practice squad if no other teams interested. Well that goes for all Tigers.

KJ, Anchrum and Shatley are the 3 that surprised me the most. Shanley has been an anchor for Jags for a long time. It is heartbreaking that he was released. Anchrum has a lot of valuable starts and experience under his belt too since 2020 and KJ is a ln absolute leader for the locker room on any team he is on. No way there are 3 better players at his position on that roster especially that will lead a locker room like he does. It surprises me the same way that Renfrow is still sitting on his couch. Just unbelievable!

Not a great look for recruiting.

WRU? Hopkins, Watkins… who else has flourished in the NFL?
Ross peaked as a freshman then was injured. Cain wasn’t same after his suspension from the natty. Bryant liked his weed better than the team.

I hate it for Powell. He’s a better human than WR and always seemed to give 100%.
