I am not sure if winning will give us a host or not. I guess it could only help but I don't see the purpose in using so many pitchers and at this point. Resting them up may be better for them in the long run, even if they are going to a road regional.

Can Tigers Get Better?

From the baseball I saw last night, our Tigers appear to need an off season to think about their game. Sure coach, you and the team may know the stakes, but you have consistently demonstrated your inability to pitch out of jams and hit when crucial runs are needed. Going to the NCAA Regionals will only prolong the misery I fear. I'm not mean enough to say our Tigers don't care. I know you do and our fans desperately want the team to succeed. So what's it take to get back the killer instinct and unbeatable swagger. The team is good enough. Sure, we have injuries, slumps, are error -prone. Overcome these challenges with a will to win despite the doubt caused by our generally poor play over the past month. If unable to achieve this desired outcome, then it'll be a long offseason.

run in post season. I mentioned below about balance possibly needed between Lee's loose have fun attitude and Leggett's uptight tense approach.

Dead wrong fellow fan and die-hard Tiger. I have faith and belief of over 50 years and 3 generations of alumni. My post was to motivate if possible but remind the team if that's not possible at this juncture, then relegate themselves (and us fans, of course) to a long post season to reflect on what could of been. My words will likely not change a thing, but I tried. If they do motivate to a small degree, my attempt was worth it. If not and they stay flat, for any reason, it'll end up true as it will be a long post season for us all.
This has been a frustrating season for sure. It can be successful in terms of goals met yet. The team determines that level of success. The alumni/fans are the cheering section. GoTigers!

I mean beating uva bc they 11 in top 25 might help us get a high seed in a regional I don't see us hosting one anymore but we will see. Very disappointed in duke lose

Yeah, the team may care about the game Friday but if uva beats duke (almost a given) then uva has no reason to play to win. it would be stupid on their part to throw any kind of a pitcher against us. I would think they'd give their pitchers some throwing practice and their hitters batting practice. given that scenario, say we win by a few runs, can we really feel confident we accomplished something other than saying we won 40 games?

Is this the biggest single-season collapse in our history?

Going from #3 in the country at the half-way point, to maybe not hosting a regional?
Not sure if that has ever happened before.
