w/ Texas A&M. It shows we have the best fans. Not just rabid but w/ sportmanship too. Tailgating w/ a but in Winston-Salem a few years ago, we were taliking to some older gentleman and he made the comment "You are nothing like playing USC, I'm glad they're not in the ACC anymore". It's great to be respected. Here's to being feared (again) as well.

Honestly, THIS is what a college football rivalry should be.

Forget the bitterness. Forget the hate.
Win or lose, enjoy the game and respect the other guys.
Maybe it's only possible in a closely contested rivalry.
Maybe it can't happen in a rivalry that is one-sided.
I dunno.
Maybe its the fact that the two schools are far apart and the fans don't feel the need to trash each other 24/7, 365 days a year.
Who knows?

It depends on where you live too.

It's easy to have respect for people that you don't have to deal with on a daily basis.
I love the GT rivalry, even if they do own us. I doubt tiger fans that live in Atlanta like the rivalry too much. They probably don't have much of a problem with the unc rivalry, but ask any tiger in NC what they think about unc or dook and I assure you they don't like them one bit.
Now coots? Well, coots is coots and will always be coots. HA!

You cannot help but pull for this kid. CJ, Jacoby, and the past players have obviously represented CU well. Great article....how long before the season?
Let's do this!

Great story. BC has tried to make it a good rivalry too.

I love hearing about the hospitality and mutual respect. It's just a game, and you can't play it without opponents.
I think BC also deserves some kudos for trying to make it a good rivalry with the O'Rourke-McFadden trophy.
Jacoby and Herzlich bowling. Picture that.
I'm glad that Herzlich is back to being healthy and hairy. God bless him.

BC is a great road trip.

I've been to both Clemson games at BC and already have the flight booked for this years game. It is without a doubt one of the best road trips for a Clemson game. The city loves Clemson fans...when I tipped a waiter with a $2 bill the last time I was there, he pulled out his wallet and showed me one he saved from two years prior. Their tailgating is not so good, due to city ordinances, but the fans are gracious and it's a very cool atmosphere. I highly reccomend BC as a must do road trip!!

of pride...have to remember that after all the W's and L's, this is what people remember about you.
Small minds are going to belittle our coach after every bad decision or loss, but his character will shine through and represent us well.
Jacoby? Taking an opposing player bowling after the game!?! Talk about keeping things in perspective!
And of course the fans, always being hospitable to opposing fans, win or lose. With all the haters and smallness we see on the internet, it is always nice to be reminded that it actually represents a small percentage of the actual game-day fanbase.

Great article! Hats off to Clemson fans, coaches and players like Jacoby Ford. Herzlich is a winner even if he never plays another down of football.
