Former San Francisco PG will transfer to Clemson

Former San Francisco point guard Avy Holmes traveled to Clemson this past weekend, and he liked what he saw and heard enough to tell the Clemson coaches he would transfer across the country. What were his main reasons? What type of player is he? (Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports) Full Story »

Awesome pick up. Played on a good team in a good mid major conference that was in the NIT. See this video of games vs BYU and San Diego. He is #12...

83% on FTs, 41% on 3s. Very good there.***

41% on 3s in the ACC would be 2nd best in the conference. In the WCC it was only 8th best. Either they have a lot of shooters that don't get recognized or they don't defend the 3 in the WCC.

Welcome Avry ! Glad to have you as a Tiger !***

He seems a little misinformed

he said he was replacing one of the best PGs in the ACC, but our starting PG (Rod Hall) is back next year.

Not misinformed at all...due to the transfer rules he has to sit out the 2014-2015 season, which is Rod Hall's senior season. This is an awesome pick-up for us...a player with experience and a year to adjust.

Well informed reply ....***

For some reason I thought this was one of those situations where the kid had graduated and was coming here for 1 year of grad school/eligibility. Guess I need to read more carefully.

Welcome to Clemson Avry!***
