Spurrier would never take him.

Hahahahahaha! Thanks for the laugh, coot.

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

If the reverse happened, I don't think Dabo would take a kid from Carolina who flamed out at Clemson like Chad did. I don't think either school would do that. Just sayin.

But spurrier will take someone who "flames" out of his own

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 8:02 PM

school like 4 times

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Posted: Apr 17, 2014 8:21 AM

Dabo wouldn't, but he is so different from spurlid in the character arena. There is no comparison. And, yes, I know spurlid has won a few games in a row. So what? It's doubtful any of us on here will live long enough to see scu even the series.

Steven Garcia says hello. Wasn't he, "reinstated"

6 times before they let Shaw take over?

Re:What makes you think that he would want to play for

Slurrier?

Re:What makes you think that he would want to play for

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 4:41 PM

Well, in case you haven't noticed, in college football the coach recruits the kid, not the other way around.

Re:What makes you think that he would want to play for

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 4:43 PM

Case in point, U of Miami, Jim Kelly's alma mater wouldn't touch Chad because of his rep, and I'm sure Jim wanted him to go there.

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 6:20 PM

Hey forcertain, you obviously live in a hole! ANY kid that spurrier thinks may have potential, he will take no matter what kind of head case or disciplinary he is. He has no morals or care for his playas. Breaking cock records and winning are his only concerns.

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 6:51 PM

Sorry. I don't think either Spurrier or Dabo would take a player off their chief rival's team in a case similar to that of Chad Kelly. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 7:06 PM

Wouldn't we all just live to know what happens with him and dabo ?

To mention that specifically means something crazy happened. Dabo is great but is not kicking anyone off the team for a heated yap fest with coaches during a spring game or some incident with a shouting match with former miss sc

Keep in mind joe Craig he and his girl went to the hospital with stitches and an acceptance that he hit her with a towel rod and she cut him with a razor blade. Not kicked off. A bit more worrisome than yapping with coaches or backing into someone's car.

He mentions dabo situation in letter. I think a family member who is embarrassed by a phone call from dabo explaining what really happened in the office knows the whole story and wrote a letter for swag.

Who really ever knows unless they were there

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 10:21 PM

Apparently you don't know too much about Clemson..... What Craig did was during track season. There were other issues leading up to it that the Track coach at the time didn't let Dabo know about.

That is why you didn't have anymore football players running track after that.

If Clowney had been dismissed from Carolina last year after an incident similar to Kelly's, would you have wanted to see him in a Tiger uniform?

Re: Good luck. I truly hope you succeed.

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 10:22 PM

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I didn't want him before he went to SC. He was a head case. Always has been and always will be.

Sad. Very sad. No reason it had to end like this for everyone involved.

I honestly think something is wrong with him

I think a therapist might be in order.

Also, props to Chad. Takes a man to realize when he's in the wrong and apologize.

I wish him the best, whatever happens

Re: FB Update: Chad Kelly apologizes for behavior that led to dismissal

Any chance they let him come back, or is this over?

Re: FB Update: Chad Kelly apologizes for behavior that led to dismissal

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 4:29 PM

Good question. I think he's out of chances, though. I have a hard time believing that this was strike one for him.

VERY highly doubtful. Based on Dabo's track record...

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 4:30 PM

Suspension is suspension and dismissal is dismissal. The end. Wish him the best in the future.

Best I could imagine is to walk on

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 4:31 PM

I think his scholarship is gone and would have to be earned back, if at all.

He probably has better chances elsewhere. I can't imagine Swinney dropped the boom. The odds are better that he was given nearly every chance to avoid dismissal and just kept pushing it so there was no choice. Hard for a coach to reverse himself if so.

Maybe I'm just being too adamant

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 4:29 PM

But this would feel a lot more earnest to me if he came from him and not a third party. Especially a third party that has no real tie to him or the school.

But I certainly wish him a full recovery from the mistakes and a bright future! Just sorry it wasn't in orange......well, Clemson orange. Could another orange be in his future??

Re: Maybe I'm just being too adamant

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 4:32 PM

Chad's statement came from one of his uncles, Dan Kelly. The statement was released to the media and a media guy from Syracuse posted it on twitter.

Still a third party to a third party. Kind of smacks of

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 4:43 PM

someone telling him "you need to do this," and then just doing it.

I'll still give him the benefit of the doubt and wish him well.

Best of luck to you Chad!

This is a good first step for Chad. Takes ownership,

accepts responsibility, apologizes and looks to the future. Hopefully he can succeed somewhere but unfortunately it won't be at Clemson.

I say Dabo should allow him back IF he sincerely apologizes to the coaches and other players especially Cole!

Evidently, the alleged Capri Sun incident, or whatever happened in that meeting, was the very last straw for Chad's Clemson career.

It takes a man to admit when he is wrong and apologize.

It's a good first step.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Indeed

Posted: Apr 16, 2014 5:24 PM

And it takes someone wanting to carry a grudge not to (metaphorically in this case) shake his hand and wish him well.

Hope it all works out for him, and he's a better man for the growth.

I guess so.

Chad is a young kid who God gave a tremendous amount of talent to. His enthusiasm just gets the best of him. He needs to learn to control that and he will. I support Dabo in his decision. It sends a message to the others on the team that he won't have this type of behavior, no matter how good you are. I REALLY like that. Chad will move on, no doubt. It is never easy to say "I'm sorry", especially for a young kid. I wish him well. Stout is solid, both on and off the field, and we need that consistency. I like where Clemson is headed!

reads like something written for him by a handler. generally pretty unimpressive like his behavior which triggered this

Re: FB Update: Chad Kelly apologizes for behavior that led to dismissal

Where were the handlers in high school and the last three years. He didn't write that. From the "pattern of behavior" ...... "Imma jus sayin, bro"..

Couldn't he have been suspended for Gajaw game?***

I'm pleased to see Chad Man-Up, but I trust Dabo on this. He knows the "why's" and has shown great judgment as a person and coach.

I personally except your apology Chad if, if you will take a step back and look for the answers that led you to your melt down at Clemson. I personally wish you the very best at what ever program you end up at except for the coots. That would cause me to wish, hope, and pray for you to have the very worst of luck. Good luck young man, and hopefully you can find a way back into the good graces Coach Swinney and staff. And just maybe work yourself back into the Clemson Tiger FB program... Regardless of where you end up playing, you will always be a Tiger first!!!
