non-cancerous tumor. The main problem my wife has experienced has been rapid vision deterioration. This adenoma has been pressing against the optic nerve. Once they remove it, her vision should restored. We are just happy it isn't cancer or Cushings Disease.

congrats on the good news. I wish her a speedy recovery

my disclosure......

Jul 20, 2012, 11:29 AM

I had brain surgery at age 12 to remove a benign meningioma that was the size of a tennis ball at the cyst. It spread up and down - pressing my brain into my optic nerves.

After it was removed the vision was restored, but left a small residual blind spot that is constant aura. Sucks, but I barely notice it anymore.

Anyways, just wanted to say, I've been there. I wanted you to know that there are good outcomes, and her prognosis seems very good from what I've read.

My thoughts are with you and your family, and I hope all goes well!

Good luck!
