Say what you want, but even if Crowell doesn't end up signing with Clemson (still unlikely), I've been impressed with Dabo and his staff.

Sorry, but without proof
Jan 15, 2011, 10:31 PM
|
|
I have been hearing that for years, but I think if something like that were going on it would have come out by now. I have some Clemson family that lives in Rock Hill, and the fact is that is just a gamecock city, for whatever reason.
From what I have heard over the years they love their Winthrop basketball up there, and love their gamecock football. I mean, the guy that put Winthrop basketball on the map, Greg Marshall, was a huge gamecock football supporter himself. Saying they are paying these Rock Hill prospects to go to Columbia without anything to back it up is just sour grapes and internet rumors.

I grew up there and you are right, a lot of folks around there had family that went to SC and the tradition continues as it does for Clemson families.

go pro in 3 years..and make about $5 million a year for 5 years...at least.
You'll be welcomed to Clemson where football is getting back on track...and sure could use you to get it there quicker.
Also, Enjoy the beauty of a smaller rural campus...great friendships formed that last a lifetime...get to run down the hill...and maybe see your name up on the Ring of Honor years later...and always be a successful TIGER...like "D" Bowers , Steve Fuller, Keith Adams, Dwight Clark, Terry Allen, the Fridge, Michael D, Charlie Waters, Lou Cordileone, the Bostics, Perry Tuttle and so many many more football champions from Clemson.
So, be a winner with a school with some great history starting with John Heisman..stay close to home so your family & friends can come see you play and win.
And, Thank you for visiting & considering Clemson!

If he doesnt take the visit.. I agree... but if he gets on Campus... it can happen. Not saying it will. CJ wasnt coming to Clemson... but he was 10 minutes after he walked on campus.

They will make him a deal that he can't refuse!!
He'll be just fine in Columbia or out of state, just so long as he is not in Clemson.

Never under estimate Swinney. I did not think he would change the OC and when Rumph left, I did not see this as a possibility. Let's hope. If he does not commitI will be very satisfied with Pagan or Drew bothstrong prospects

OUR state. Good out-of-state programs are actually more successful there than we are. Rock Hill is a gold mine based on producing powerhouse football programs and NFL players. The fact that we are locked out of that market, a mere 2 hours from campus really hurts our program.

Clowney owes it to himself to make his Clemson visit and while his indecisiveness, opportunistic nature is one way to look at him or just inability to see that he can walk into the history of great dfensive players like Adams, Leroy Hill, Dequan Bowners and Gaines Adams and the expsoure Clemson provided to each of them. Yes he showed he is a talent at the high school level. So did Willie Korn. Yes he had a good shrine game. Yes he has a higher probability of being a good player but until he gets there and walks in the shoes of Gaines Adams and DeQuan Bowers he and we will not know. DeQuan took 2 years to get to a level of perofrmance. Yes it would be better to have him on our team than Carolina but does he want to be a Tiger. It is the COMMITTMENT to being a Tiger and hard work that he needs to show because he is unproven at the next level and many are very surprised at the competition. Welcome to the big leagues Mr Clowney. You will find no greater a tradition or following than Clemson Fans and no better an expereince than death valley. The Tigers are poised for a break thru. Where do you want to be?
