My grandson is a junior in HS. He recently received a letter from Clemson stating:
"Good news from Clemson! We have received a report from the College Board that included your SAT scores and information you recorded on the Student Descriptive Questionnaire..... In light of your outstanding SAT scores and the detailed information you provided about your high school record, we would like to offer you provisional acceptance to Clemson University for fall 2010."
Later it stated that the only provision is that he apply by Dec 1, 2009, and the acceptance will be guaranteed.
This kid is not a nerd. He is the starting quarterback on his HS football team, and works every day on his parents farm.
Sorry, but just had to brag.

really took the burden off of applying for schools when you know you only have to send the application in and wait to get your housing info. congrats!
