hug your kids

Mar 23, 2011, 9:17 PM

I work at one of the big hospitals in the upstate as an RN and had tough weekend. I am sure that you all are aware of the kiddie train in the Spartanburg that flipped over, well I was amazed at the teamwork and resilience of everyone involved, because it was definitely a traumatic event. Just please hug your kids and be thankful for every moment in life. Sometimes we get too bent out of shape how Dabo is doing or why Leggett is pulling the pitcher or why we had to play the tournament games so close together. Just keep things in perspective.

I didn't write this post for points or kudos or anything else. and normally I could care less about thumbs up or down. But I am not sure how some one could thumbs down this post? Heck I just wanted to illustrate how life is fragile and we should savor every moment and embrace all the good that surrounds us and not let negativity bombard us. I, for one, and EXTREMELY guilty of letting negativity invade my life too often. Very disheartening. Someone must have no compassion or is just a total pryck. Of course, maybe I should follow my own advice and KEEP things in PERSPECTIVE.

My nephew recently dated one of the moms of the kids that got critically injured in that wreck. I had the pleasure of meeting both of those kids last summer. They are both great kids and a pleasure to know - along with the mom being a loving, kind mom. It's hard to fathom the hurt that she must be going through as her kids recover.
