why is everyone surprised about baseball team

Mar 22, 2009, 10:32 PM

point blank this years team and last years team have a lot in common and thats not a good thing recruiting coordinator should be sweating bullets

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

well...........

Mar 22, 2009, 10:45 PM

absolutely NO ONE's surprised to see you piling on after a loss.

You're right. There's no reason to think this years version of Tiger baseball is any different than last years....just like we don't expect this type post to stop either

My advice is stop following the baseball team so your frustration won't reach the point where you feel the necessity of posting this crap.

Oh im not frustrated

Mar 22, 2009, 10:56 PM

Frustration comes when you expect a different outcome this team is just not that good. Not "piling on" just being a realist

You're not frustrated, just clueless.***

A lot of baseball left to be played...

Do you even FOLLOW baseball...

Mar 23, 2009, 12:08 AM

or do you make assumptions by looking at the final scores? This team is NOTHING like last year's team; it's already won 2 road games against ranked teams, something that didn't happen last year. This year's freshman class is VERY good, and if you'd been paying attention you'd know that. Will Lamb will be a star before his career is over at Clemson. Jason Stolz and Brad Miller have very bright futures. Chris Dwyer is one of the top freshman pitchers in the country. The recruiting coordinator has done a MUCH better job than the last one, but I guess you don't pay attention to that either. What doesn't surprise me is your lack of knowledge.

Anyone here following baseball?

Mar 23, 2009, 7:34 AM

We are 1/2 game out of 1st in the coastal divison with UNC and FSU out of the way.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He probably doesn't even know who the RC is

Mar 23, 2009, 8:48 AM [ in reply to Do you even FOLLOW baseball... ]

or that he is a different one from the one we had two years ago.

Because we all know that NOTHING can be learned from

final scores. LOL.

USC is actually a lot better than LSU this year. The final scores showing that they crushed us notwithstanding.

Baseballfan is right...

Mar 23, 2009, 11:08 AM

Baseballfan is right on this one.

The difference is improvement and actually being competitive in games with our hardest conference opponents out of the way (NO UVA THIS YEAR!). Two games came to the bottom of the 9th on the road vs. ranked opponents. I believe our ability to close out games will improve as the year goes on...let's just let the season play out.

I believe we will continue to improve.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The team was in the game in the last inning when a guy

Mar 23, 2009, 1:05 AM

hits a walkoff...losing on a walkoff to a ranked team doesnt seem too awful to me

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Actually, the recruiting is much better since Sully left.

Mar 23, 2009, 3:27 AM

It will take a year or two to really show, but this team is MUCH better than last year's team.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm optomistic, but we do need to recruit local talent more***

Mar 23, 2009, 8:44 AM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Like Khalil Greene...wait ...he was from Florida....

Mar 23, 2009, 11:13 AM

Or Jeff Baker---Virginia
Or Kris Benson--Georgia

Don't get me wrong, we have had some great one's from the Palmetto State, too (Michael Johnson, Harbin, and many more) but I have NO ISSUE with getting the best talent possible. Talent knows NO state boundry--and once they put on a Tiger uniform they represent OUR SCHOOL.
