Bypassed ESPN 360 time warner restriction!
Sep 6, 2008, 4:07 PM

Here is how I did it. Google codeen. They are public .edu proxy servers. There is a list link if you scroll down the page.
ESPN 360 works with any .edu ip.
128.113.226.235 port 3128 is the proxy I used.
So in internet explorer you goto Tools-> options. connections Tab. Then LAN settings. Type in either the proxy above or another from the list.
Then goto ESPN360.com. It might take a while to load. It will prompt you to install the plugin. Then when it gets to the point where it actually is starting to load ESPN 360 go back and take off the proxy server. ESPN 360 will continue to load under your internet connection and run under your connection from now on. Enjoy.
It takes a little effort but once it's running you are good.

By take off I mean just go back and uncheck the proxy server you just put in.
You may have to use a couple different servers from the list as for whatever reason they go up and down a lot. This does work though it's not without trial and error

There is a list if you scroll down on the codeen page. Search for the word list. Thats what they mean on that first page when they say that.

Go to safari menu preferences advanced change settings on proxies then select web proxy and type on the ip and port from the original message.
Go to 360 and download the plugin.

Ports 3128,3127 and 3124 are valid for all servers on the list. And just look for one that has a lot of people connected. If it doesn't say good it's not necessarily down. Odd I know.

What prompt are you getting from ESPN 360? Is it connecting? Once you put in the proxy try going to google.com just to test.
When you go to ESPN 360, you will get one of two things:
1.) prompt to install plugin if you have never used it.
Or
2.) a link to open the 360 window.
If you don't get either of these try another one on the list that has a lot of users connected to it.
It's a crapshoot sometimes. This whole thing was not without a lot of trial and error and Im sorry if everyone can't get it working. Took me all day to figure this out.

Nice find! Working using FoxyProxy FF Extension

I set up a "pattern" in FoxyProxy using the IP and port you listed. It only triggers the proxy if I navigate to an espn.go.com url. Nice!

It'll connect to Codeen page but then 360 page will try to load (it gives me the frames and login boxes) but then it'll just quit and fail.
