Nothing groundbreaking... but here goes...

1. Nothing has changed regarding Clemson. Clemson and FSU are 11 and 12.
2. We're viewed as a 2 for 1 deal. Clemson has been the more proactive going back to last fall. FSU is the "sexy" pick here, and they make the news. We are more aligned than people think, as we benefit each other in a move. WVU concurs.
3. Very strong push being made for ND as 13. If the Big XII can pull it off, it would be huge. Afterward, it looks like GT or Pitt for 14. GT is more attractive, but Pitt wants in bad. GT is actively in talks.
4. No truth to "just FSU and ND" rumors. Not happening. Big XII gets a new deal at 13 and 14 teams, and Clem/FSU make 12. This enables them to push so hard for ND.
5. Not likely to hear any kind of verifications. Big XII learned from the SEC and others how "not" to do things. They, nor will other teams admin., open themselves up to legal activity.
6. Everyone is on board with Clemson and FSU.
7. I have no sources at Clemson, but my Big XII guys tell me that the price for talking at Clemson is termination. Period.
8. Contrary to 7, it is starting to leak a little, which is inevitable.
9. StanleyTiger gets on my nerves.

Something else to keep in mind... WVU and TCU offically join June 30. If they want to vote, it would have to be after that...
I don't anticipate anything public until at least mid summer. (as in official from admin.)
Although I want be shocked if the lid comes off this.

I sure hope you're right. I have no idea if you've got sources or whatnot, or if you're just confidently making stuff up. But I sure hope you're right. I'm starting to get nervous the Big XII is getting greedy and shopping around that 12th spot, if/when they lock FSU in as #11.

I've been saying since early *last* year that FSU and Clemson need to forge an unbreakable partnership and shop it around, so I'm glad to hear someone in the administration thought that was a good idea. At the time I was hoping it'd get us into the SEC, but I can live with Big XII. Not my favorite place to land but it's leagues better than being left behind.

what the B12 plans to do when Texas leaves for the PAC12/B10/ACC? They are aware it has been CONFIRMED by TEXAS they've been talking to each of these conferences for well over a year now, right? Adding WVU and TCU only pushed them closer to the door. What's the plan then? The Dallas Cowboys?

What rock have you been living under the past year? Texas openly ADMITS they are looking for a way out of the Big12. They ADMIT they met with all these conferences. What good is ruling a conference everyone is fleeing, and all you can replace them with is a team the freakin' BIG EAST didn't even notice had left?

I just don't see the appeal of the Big12. It was a dead conference a year ago, adding TCU and WVU didn't change that, despite what the Big12 and SEC say. The ACC will be fine. The SEC is having a great run right now. It will end. Probably sooner than you think. But they're not stupid, they're just trying to take advantage while they're hot. ACC did the same thing 10 years ago.

The appeal of the Big 12 is that they were proactive and recovered from teams leaving/the changing football landscape. They've made very solid moves in their front office and are developing a relationship with the SEC.

Nobody, not even the Big East thinks the WVU pick up is a solid move. The Big East filed suit to keep Pitt and Syracuse in conference for as long as they can, but didn't even blink when WVU packed up. That doesn't give me a lot of confidence in that move. Wait till everyone sees the disaster this year's version of the Big12 will be and we'll all be thanking the Lord we're not in that mess.

But the scary part of it is, if FSU leaves the ACC it becomes even more lame than it is already being portrayed by ESecPN. And they are the 800 lb Gorilla driving the bus. Like it or not. Explain to me why the Big12 is more stable than it was last year and how that bowl (which is the Cotton Bowl) is the "game changing" deal everybody says it is?
You'll say MONEY!!!!
And I'll remind you no school has ever left a conference because of money. That idiot at FSU is the only one talking about money, because they don't have any. The four teams (all football first schools BTW) who left the Big12 didn't do so for money.
So please, please explain this to me without using a SEC press release as your main source and I'll be forever in your debt.

None of those left mainly because of money. Pitt turned down B12 and supposedly more money for the ACC and supposedly less money for academics/culture/geography. Boise St wanted AQ-status and didn't care where they had to go to get it. Missouri wanted B10 actually for academics/culture, but took SEC as second choice because B12 was breaking up. WVU left Big East because it was breaking up and nobody cared. Syracuse because of BE break-up. I'm not stupid, I know money is a factor, but money is usually just part of the details. Schools mostly want prestige and stability that means they don't go through this mess every five years.

Ivy league schools get a TON of money off of their ACADEMIC prestige.
You are trying to compare ACADEMIC prestige with ATHLETIC prestige.
Ivy league schools do not have national prestige on the grid iron. They did in the early 1900s but not anymore.

I'm no Swofford fan, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the Big12 doesn't even have a commissioner right now, right? So you have no idea what you're getting into. They lost 4 big programs in the past 2 years, that's a fact, not a rumor. ACC has lost zero, and is adding two schools much better than TCU and WVU. How is the Big12 not the Big East 10 years ago?

Yes they are, in the long term. How long has TCU been an AQ school? Did anyone care that WVU left the Big East? Pitt and Cuse are down, mostly because the instability of the BE IMHO, but college football is like the elevator business. Ups and downs people.

The brought in Chuck Neinas as an interim (doing a great job) and will have Bob Bowlsby, the Stanford AD (one of the most successful Athletic Departments in the country), starting in late June.
If that's not a better situation than what the ACC is in then I'm missing something.

I'm not going to defend Swofford, but I always prefer the devil I know to the devil I don't. Bowlsby has no comparable record to judge by that I'm aware of. Remember, Swofford was the AD at UNC in it's prime.
Being an interim anything is the easiest job in the world because you don't have to deal with any consequences of your actions (WVU).

Bowlsby was an AD at a school that isn't in the conference he's going to be the AD of. If Swofford was looking out for the best interests of the conference and not for the best interests of UNC and his son, he'd probably be doing a much better job.

you have no idea where york gets his information which is likely coming for mmultiple sources. Furthermore, york has never claimed to know what is actually happening. He is simply sharing information that he hears and/or reads.
