Tony Rice was a Proposition 48 player at Notre Dame who GRADUATED from ND, is now very successful in a business career in Chicago; given that there is NO "minor league football" or else admitting that college football IS minor league football, and that many kids playing high school football will never "launch rockets for NASA", some consideration has to be given for kids that can play college football and MAY make it to the NFL; if a kid can make at least "part" of an academic requirement for admission under NCAA guidelines, then he SHOULD get the chance to at least "prove himself", i.e. Prop. 48; some kids, like Tony Rice, WILL make it, and some will not, that is just reality; BUT, with all the money generated from NCAA sports, the limited opportunities available to kids playing football, either college or work, the circumstances need to change to make "reasonable opportunities" to kids that can at least meet a portion of the NCAA requirements, AND FURTHERMORE, the NCAA needs to adopt a regulation that is EQUAL for ALL SCHOOLS, that each school MUST ACCEPT, where a kid who can meet such requirements can attend ANY NCAA institution, regardless of academic requirements placed upon other applicants at that school so that if Jo Jo Cox met the NCAA requirements at least partially, that Clemson, Notre Dame, Kansas, Texas, Purdue, and all the rest would be able to sign him and admit him if he were offered a scholarship; the whole situation involving Jo Jo Cox is not JUST ABOUT CLEMSON, it effects all other programs as well, it should be a level playing field for all NCAA schools and the NCAA should be the first body to "correct" the issue - jmo
