They're raising awareness of the human atrocities that a warlord named Kony has committed across Uganda and other parts of Africa. They want to get a stronger US presence involved with Uganda's army.
The only problem is that Uganda's national army isn't exactly a group of saints. They have their own issues with looting and rape in addition to the fact that their national leader is a dictator.
I was skeptical and found this website in response to the KONY 12 campaign.

disagree with the blogger's conclusion more. He says, "Sometimes doing something is worse than doing nothing." Well, that sure sounds like a Canadian, doesn't it? In the face of such an atrocity, one simply cannot allow doing nothing to be an option.
