Mr. Dantzler died Wednesday, June 22, at the VA Hospital in Charleston following an extended illness.

He was born November 17, 1949, in Orangeburg, as the oldest child to Ethel Mae Dantzler and the late Woodrow Dantzler Sr. He was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg and later enlisted in the United States Army, where he served two years before being honorably discharged. Following his call to duty, Mr. Dantzler enrolled at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College where he received his GED with a trade in automotive.

At an early age, he joined Bull Swamp Baptist Church, and later became a watch cave member at Trinity Baptist Church. He was employed at Albemarle for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Mrs. Mozelle Dantzler, of Orangeburg; three daughters, Delphine (Troy) Calloway and Rhelia Dantzler, of Orangeburg, and Constance Glover, of Elloree; three sons, Woodrow Dantzler III, of Dallas, James Johnson, of Holly Hill, and Frank Melvin, of Spartanburg; one brother, Thomas (Cynthia) Dantzler, of Orangeburg; one sister, Dorothy (Larry) Butler, of Orangeburg; four grandchildren, Kendra, Jazzymum, Nikey, and Faith; a special friend, Johanna Glover, of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the residence and at Glover's Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Could we do a TigerNet card?

Jun 26, 2005, 3:42 PM

If Woody reads TigerNet, or even if he doesn't, I think it would be a nice gesture. That would certainly mean a lot to them to know that so many of us are praying for them and are behind them during this difficult time.
