No baseball doesn't count. And yes our Nat'l Champ in 81 does.
Clear?

Sure, glad you're hanging onto 31 years ago. How has that worked out. Let me know the next time you have any program that is the premier program in the nation and you can talk.
By the way, sure was fun knocking you out of baseball just like football, basketball etc...
But hey, you have 1981!!!

It's funny because neither Clemson nor South Carolina can be considered "premiere programs" because neither of us have won any notable bowls in recent memory.

No baseball doesn't count. You know why? Because nobody cares about college baseball unless you are wearing a Gamecock hat. College baseball is the third biggest college sport and the fourth largest in the northern states (behind college hockey.)

I did have my chicken curse beads on last night, but I think that my changing the brand of beer I was drinking may have had too much of a negative effect. I've learned my lesson, and it will never happen again. Keep the faith, and just be glad that we still have one more game remaining in our schedule. After that it's the dreaded dead time and cold of Winter. I live for football season.

Baseball doesn't count? Eh, I think the thousands of Tiger fans who attend games at Doug Kingsmore every year would beg to differ. And no one under the age of old remembers when Clemson won the 1981 title. That's about as relevant as Harvard being good back in the 50s or whenever.

Baseball has no affect on a school, college football brings the money in. People go to baseball games just like they go to basketball games and soccer games, we aren't any good, we know it and it doesn't bother us but it's Clemson so we go to cheer them on.
You can't bring baseball up in arguments about football because it's like arguing which fruit is best and you jump in the conversation screaming "CARROTS! CARROTS!" It doesn't apply so it isn't relevant to the conversation.

Not trying to stir anything up..but it was over a few years ago when the SEC renegotiated their tv deal. For the past five or six years South Carolina has been spending 10-15 million dollars more A YEAR in their athletic department. Add Spurrier to the mix and your going to see results.
If Clemson stays in the ACC and South Carolina continues to play on ESPN at 7PM every Saturday against SEC competition and continues to bring in $10 million a year more than Clemson why would you expect to beat USC more than 50% of the time.
