WHO - Asymptomatic infected not the source of virus spread

What science is showing is that if you have the virus, but you don't have any symptoms, you are not the source of the spread of the virus. It is the people who have symptoms, and who are out in public, who are spreading the virus - by getting virus on surfaces that other people touch and then transport to their faces, not via aerosol. You don't get the virus by breathing in contaminated air. You get it by touching something that someone who's sick has touched or coughed on, and then touching your nose/mouth.

So, if the people who have ANY of the symptoms would immediately isolate themselves, the spread of this virus would basically end. If you are infected and don't have any symptoms, you're not spreading it to others.

The only people who need masks are those who have symptoms, but those people shouldn't be out in public at all. Scientific data is showing that we can open everything up and leave the masks at home. You don't catch this virus by breathing in contaminated air. You catch it by touching something that was contaminated by someone who has symptoms. Wash your hands. Or wear gloves, as long as you know how to put them on and take them off without cross contamination.

"Available evidence from contact tracing reported by countries suggests that asymptomatically infected individuals are much less likely to transmit the virus than those who develop symptoms."

“To date, transmission of SARS-CoV-2 by this type of aerosol route has not been demonstrated."

They dont know squat. After all these months its something new everyday. Usually contradicting the previous day or weeks science.

The one thing that is very clear so far is that masks aren’t needed.

Here's an example of WHO reversing what was said the next day (applies to OP):

From your article:

“We have a number of reports from countries who are doing very detailed contact tracing. They’re following asymptomatic cases, they’re following contacts, and they’re not finding secondary transmission onward,” Van Kerkhove said. “It’s very rare.”

“It still appears to be rare that an asymptomatic individual actually transmits onward.”

"The minimal data that does exist, Bogoch said, does point to relatively uncommon transmission.

They go on to talk about models, which are simply predictions that can be tweaked to say whatever you want. You can believe the models, which can be made to say WHATEVER you want them to say. The data is clearly pointing to asymptomatic people not being the source of the spread of the virus.

If you're not sick, you don't need to wear a mask. If you are sick, even slightly, you need to stay home.

Doesn't even make sense considering that crowded beach goers have had a high rate of infection.

There were symptomatic people there, and they were touching each other directly, or they were touching things that symptomatic people touched.

Now, I'm conflicted...

The same people who said there was no human-to-human transmission when Taiwan and South Korea were screaming it from the roof tops. They also based their initial hydroxycholequline study on data that turned out to be fabricated. WHO has been behind on everything since the beginning of this. I appreciate your optimism for a football season, but the WHO is about as useful as a headache.

Have you seen the latest American study of Hydroxychloroquine?

“Our analysis shows that using hydroxychloroquine helped saves lives,” said neurosurgeon Dr. Steven Kalkanis, CEO, Henry Ford Medical Group and Senior Vice President and Chief Academic Officer of Henry Ford Health System. “As doctors and scientists, we look to the data for insight. And the data here is clear that there was benefit to using the drug as a treatment for sick, hospitalized patients.”

Looks like that those flawed Chinese studies were right. Just looking at the data, not the MSM hype, not the models. And really wanting to see football this fall. Go Tigers!

While I certainly hope that asymptomatic folks are not

WiFied

This is based off of anecdotal evidence at best. People who got sick and tested positive are attempting to point the finger at who they think they got it from and many are saying other people they know as symptomatic. Why? Because like everyone else, no one knows who has it that isn't symptomatic. If we were testing everyone regardless of symptom, we might be able to make these types of claims... but we can't.
