Tigernet Dictionary: Volume Three
Aug 10, 2016, 10:05 AM
|
|
Link to volume 2: http://www.tigernet.com/forums/thread.jspa?forumID=10&threadID=392016&messageID=4349161
Coot- a reference to a supporter of the University of South Carolina. Derived from the name of an aquatic bird that is a common pest.
Leghumper- a reference to a supporter of the University of Georgia.
Mange- the main board on Tigernet (Tiger Board) for discussion of Clemson athletics. Those who post mainly in the mange are referred to as "mangers."
Jounge- the board on Tigernet for non sports-related discussions. Those who post mainly in the lounge are referred to as "joungers."
Montego Bay, Jamaica- the frequent vacation destination of Tigernet founders Crump and BMeist.
Steak Knives- the reward given by Crump/BMeist to posters with significant contributions to the website or for winning contests. No known recipients to date.
Stay By Your Computer- a warning of forthcoming important news. Derived from the title of a Tigernet article of the same name during the Bowden/Dabo transition.
RAG- short for "Reach Around Gang." references a secret society of Tigernet posters who allegedly ruin the board.
TIA in Advance- reference to a poster who spelled out the last two words of an acronym.
Deer- slang for "dear." Derived from a poster who began a message with the title "Deer Dabo."
Juan- slang for "one."
Land-blasted- slang for "lambasted." Also derived from the misuse by a poster.
Grade of slaw- slang for "grain of salt." Also derived from the misuse by a poster.
Lot 1 Football Attack- a reference to the football stabbing in lot 1 circa 2012. As the story goes, a few kids were throwing a football and struck a neighboring tent several times. After being asked to stop, the kids continued to hit the tent at which point the owner of said tent stabbed the football with a knife.
Dippin Dots- a vender for Clemson football games that only operates in the lower deck. Is also used as a reference to inequality amongst the upper and lower decks.
Alumni Debate- the reoccurring debate on Tigernet centered around whether non-students/alumni can be "real Clemson fans."
Littlejohn Midget Fight- reference to a poster who offered to fight numerous posters outside of Littlejohn preceding a Clemson football game. The incident started when the poster was looking for tickets and put his phone number on the board. After being made fun of, he took it personally and offered to fight anyone outside of Littlejohn at the tailgate show. When he described himself as being 5'9'', he was further provoked as being a midget.
Reasonably Priced- description commonly used by those looking for tickets to big games. Meant as a subtle remonstration for those sellers who don't ignore the principles of supply and demand.
LBB's Retirement - a reference to the poster LightBulbBill's impending retirement that set the board into a state of depression. Luckily his retirement lasted around one week.
Great Mange Invasion of 2014 - a reference to a war between the mange and jounge that occurred in the spring of 2014. It all started when Crump/BMeist moved mange posts into the jounge. Joungers responded by posting non-sports topics in the mange. A constant back and forth ensued with numerous pictures of fecal matter being posted in both the mange and jounge. The war came to an end when Crump/BMeist threatened banning.
Board Suicide - intentionally getting banned by violating the rules of the board. Usually done by posting pornographic materials.
Lists - the art of calling out posters by name who disagreed with you after your point has been validated. Is an outlawed practice and is subject to banning.
Virginia Tech Running Down the Hill- a false report that the Virginia Tech football team would be allowed to run down the hill prior to the 2007 football game as a notion of solidarity after the campus massacre.
YorkTiger and the Big 12 incident of 2012 - a poster who had "reliable inside sources" that Clemson had been offered and accepted a bid to join the Big 12. The board resulted in a frenzy.
UDP - acronym for "upper deck poor."

I'd suggest if you're going to define RAG you might want to provide a definition and the origin of the term. RAG is the acronym for Reach Around Gang and Dr Nikola Tesla invented the term.

Alumni Debate- the reoccurring debate on Tigernet centered around whether non-students/alumni can be "real Clemson fans."
Not really a debate we all know the answer to that one.

correct definitions):
Geno's Mom- a reference to Geno Hayes's 2005 NSD presser when we thought we had a shot at signing him. His mom was "delayed" showing up for hours and Geno committed to FSU. Used when a recruit's mom steps in and seems to decide for the recruit where to go. See also, Mrs. Nkemdiche.
Germans- a confusing bastardization of John Belushi's "Did we give up when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor?" monologue from Animal House that came to refer to someone posting old information
Gronked- a reference to Rob Gronkowski's recruitment when we all thought he was a CU lock and he committed to Arizona out of the blue (because the chicks were hot per Gronk). Used when recruits string a school along and pull the rug out from under them.
