In August 2019, Saunders suffered a compound fracture of the clavicle that was incurred in a motorized skateboard accident. Saunders stated he expected to be out for 4–6 months

I didn't know that. I thought he had decided to give it up, which he talked about doing the middle of last year. If he does return, I don't know what kind of status he would have other that minor medical perhaps.

I knew he was struggling with "enjoying the game" . . .

but I thought about the time of this article:

he had found a good place to be, emotionally. The scooter accident would explain a lot. Hope he mends well a finds his love of the game. Oftentimes when you lose something, even for a few months, clarity sets in and a renewed love is formed. Selfishly, may this be his case.

Pulling for our Tiger!!!!!!!

Thanks for finding this. I saw a post a few weeks ago mentioning an accident, but there were no details or timeline.

I'm guessing that once he is healthy again, we'll probably see him primarily on the Korn Ferry Tour. He finished 173rd in last season's FedExCup standings. So, he did not earn a sport on the PGA Tour via the Top 125 or a conditional spot for 126 to 150 finishers. Plus, due to the injury, he missed the Korn Ferry Tour Finals for a chance to earn a spot that way. So, other than playing off of sponsors exemptions, I don't think he would have any status on the PGA Tour. Hopefully, he is fully healed in time for the Arnold Palmer Invitational at a minimum.

I sincerely hope someone just "fat fingered" the TU icon on his mobile phone . . . there is no other explanation for such an immature gesture . . . even for an anonymous msg board!!!

Whomever you are . . . "Get yourself together!!!"

Neal Ajubita is also playing this week as the PGA Tour Latinoamérica resumes with the São Paulo Golf Club Championship.

Thanks Bengal.

Here’s sam’s Instagram post that’s on Wikipedia... I guess it’s his account.

Sorry I haven’t posted anything in a long time and this isn’t exactly the post I want to be sharing, but I wanted my friends and fans to know why I won’t be playing for a while. This was a tough season for me on the @pgatour , I fought my health and body all year. I was really looking forward to some time off to take care of myself and this Friday I did this. This is what a compound fracture of the clavicle looks like. The bone punctured my skin so surgery was the only option. I will be back, and the silver lining is I finally have the time off to take care of the parts of my body that need work. 4-6 months of hard work and I will be back better than I have ever been and ready to finally get that win.. Thanks to everyone for all of your continued support, it means the world to me.

If anyone can verify this is his real account, please do. Not sure why after this post that any of the golf news hasn’t picked it up.

Also the first I’d heard of him fighting health issues all year. I pray for Sam. He deserves some good!!!!
