He’s just not smart enough to be a great QB.

As inarticulate as LJ may be...

He is more decisive and a better passer than Kelly B. He makes better choices running and passing the ball. So yeah... compared to Kelly B, Lamar Jackson could be considered "brilliant". That will be proven when LJ is still a starting QB in the NFL while Kelly B is looking for a job selling condos by some lake in Missouri.

I actually don't think he's a great athlete either

For as much Bryant runs he's really not a great runner. He's definitely an OK runner and probably an above average runner for a QB, but he's not dynamic by any means and I'm not really sure what his strength is as a runner. He's not all that explosive, he doesn't have great speed so he rarely breaks any really long runs, and he's not all that elusive in the pocket because he takes a TON of sacks. When Bryant runs i think you really just hope he can get 4 or 5 yards and keep you on schedule.
As evidence here are KB's per carry averages the last 3 years:
2017 - 3.5 2018 - 4.3 2019 - 2.5
Now that does include sack yardage which deflates the numbers, but other elite running QBs have still managed to post anywhere from 5-8 YPC averages even with sack yardage because most elite running QBs are good at escaping the pocket and not taking sacks - something Bryant has never excelled at.

It’s not that KB2 is not smart enough or smart, it’s his thought process under duress. TB had the same issue but was good enough for college (for the most part) but not the NFL.

19 of 33 for 227 and 2 td's 1 int 77 rush yards
Plus, his team won the game!
Him winning games he should win is what I remember about KB. He is a serviceable college QB; but not a great one. He wins games as the starter!
But, he can't beat tough defenses because he isn't accurate enough beyond 10 yards.
He is a Clemson grad and I won't knock him for that. Outside of some of the silly comments; I don't have a problem with him. Not unless I have a problem also with Hunter Johnson, Shaq Smith, Zerrick Cooper, Richard Yeargen, etc.
No matter what people say he will always have that seal that authenticates him as a Clemson Grad and as such I just wish him the best.
