Swinney mentioned in The Athletic's article on NFL coaches

Dec 10, 2018, 12:38 PM

The Athletic offers up a quality article about NFL coaching hires and why they should be focused on hiring culture builders like Swinney.

Here's the pertinent paragraph references CDS.

"Instead of looking for the “hot” coach, teams should be looking for the best culture builder. If you ever have watched the movie Hoosiers, you would know Coach Dale might be the most significant culture builder of all time. And perhaps second to Coach Dale is Dabo Swinney of Clemson. Swinney would solve so many teams’ problems, it amazes me that he isn’t at the top of all NFL coaching candidate lists. Swinney can relate to the modern player. He can motivate, lead and recruit, and he knows talent. Most of all, he can make an entire organization better. But Swinney is not considered a sexy or electable choice because he does not call his plays. Yes, everyone recognizes that Swinney has built a great program at Clemson, but he’s not thought of as a guru, which to me is ridiculous. Swinney is the modern day Jimmy Johnson."
