South Carolina vs Alabama

Sep 13, 2017, 6:34 AM

Can someone explain to me how they are in the same conference but haven't played since 2010?

Don't any of you remember the big Blowup or rant that Spurrier had about having to play Bama and LSU every year on their schedule. Getting Bama and LSU off their schedule was one of his greatest accomplishments in helping the coots get their first ever season of 11 wins in one season!!!!

There are 2 important lines on the field, 100yds apart. If you take the ball across the right line you get 6 pts.....if you take it across the wrong line you get -2 pts. HTH

SCAR and Bammer don't play because SCAR fans would be confused as to who to pull for.

That pic was LSU fans supporting SCar during the floods... so I wouldnt use that to diss them.

Bama and SCar hasnt played since 2010 for the same reason we dont play some coastal teams for years and years. 14 team conferences make for poor cross division scheduling.
16 teams would actually be easier with a pod system... I created an example of such. (attached)

I used it because I couldn't find the picture of the 2 SCAR fans wearing "USC for LSU" T-shirts.

Ok Greensville, its actually simple. I hope you are serious with this question.

SEC has like 14 teams in the conference but these are divided into to 2 divisions
Coots are in the East division and Alabama is in the West.
East teams play the other six teams in division each year and two team from West division
The two teams are Texas A&M and another team which changes each year. They should play Alabama real soon, but the "rotation" has them playing Arkansas this year.

If there are seven teams in each division they should play them this year

Re: South Carolina vs Alabama

Sep 13, 2017, 9:16 AM

I think they actually do a home and away with the teams from the other side the pop up on their schedule. Can't remember if they played Arkansas last year but they'll do a home game and then an away game with them before a new team rolls onto the schedule.

Lsu and Alabama have to be coming up soon on their schedule

They played Mississippi State last year***

I actually think we were supposed to play them the year the SEC changed its schedule rotation with adding Missouri and A&M. So it was just one of those fluke things.

The Cawks play Bama again in 2019...

Sep 13, 2017, 9:32 AM

As another poster pointed-out, the SEC has fourteen teams which are divided into to two seven team Divisions (East and West)

$CU is in the East Division while Alabama is in the West.

Each team plays the other six teams in its Division every year.

Each team also plays two opponents from the other Division. One is a permanent opponent and the other rotates each year.

$CU's permanent opponent is Texas A&M. The Capon's other opponent from the West Division this year is Arkansas, another bottom feeder.

The rotating opponents for the next few years are;

2018 - at Ole Miss
2019 - vs Alabama
2020 - at LSU
2021 - vs Auburn
