What a lot they have overcome! From going in to the season with a 2-quarterback system and all the inconsistency that must come with that from two very different quarterbacks, to KB leaving and all the instability that was expected to cause. All the pundits expected that to cause lockerroom dissension and controversy but I think it had the opposite effect - it galvanized this team behind their starter, thanks to leadership from guys like CW42. Then when TL went down in the Syracuse game, when we were struggling a bit anyway and Chase comes in and leads this team like a champ, with everyone else stepping up to pick up the slack and help him along. Then we lost CJ Fuller, who was a teammate to most of the guys on the team, but they kept their focus and began to systematically dismantle each and every opponent. We haven't had a close game since Syracuse.
So here we sit at 10-0 with a true freshman at quarterback, surrounded by young all-stars at the skilled positions, and a defenses dominated essentially by an NFL front 4 who are not only great athletes, but great leaders. Three more games to go where we will likely be heavily favored and then we can start playing the big boys. I have no doubt this team will step up and compete.
This team is special. To paraphrase former president W, "I know it, you know it, and soon the people who doubt us will know it!"
