on P&D. Hopefully Tnet can get it and post it here for those who didnt see it. Now I know Seth can be controversial and I dont always agree. SOme of it was about a team coming togetther late because you dont have guys available due to injury. ANyway the haters wont like it and the pumpers will so nothing earth shattering there

start off ######. No good OOC wins, bad losses.
Team starts to get it together in Jan and finishes strong.
But too little too late.
It will take a miracle to make the tourney.

year with CBB . . . .

Can it change ? SURE it could. WILL it ? Doubt it.

It is JUST like Tommy Bowden - just BARELY enough flicker of life to hold onto due to the "What if we get someone that sends us backwards even more ?" . . . . that fear of getting worse.

We shouldn't have that in basketball because we have been pretty terrible a lot of the times.

HAS it been better the last 4 games - absolutely. Brad has a fire - FINALLY - and there is a little something to show for good shooting and outstanding defense.

Is it very similar to this every year ? Yes.

do you honestly believes he underachieves as bad as Bowden? that he is able to get comparable talent in hoops to what football gets? You may defend it because you posted it but if someone else posted it and you read it you would point out how ridiculous this sounds. There have been times I wanted him fired. wouldnt have bothered me with the way we underachieved last year. but this year with almost all new guys and lots of injuries he has done a fine job so far.

For me, I was one of those opposed to Bowden ever stepping foot on our campus, and wanted him fired every year. He can't coach his way out of a sack. It was insane to give him any contract extensions that CLEMSON had to pay dearly for. As for Brownell, he needs to do one heck of lot more than he's accomplished in his 10 years for me to respect his coaching / recruiting ability. I would have fired CBB at least 5 years ago. Yes - the team is playing the best right now that I've seen in so many years that I cannot even remember a CLEMSON team playing like this (in the last 3 games anyway). Let's just enjoy what little success we have seen in recent games, and try to remember how it COULD be going forward. I'm not all giddy about it yet, but I look at things differently than many fans. I have nothing against the diehard fans feeling giddy about it though, and hope it all works out for them.

Go TIGERS and good luck in our remaining games.

The ONLY thing I compared to Bowden was how he would give us

a flicker of life & then it would all fall apart again - at Wake Forest or Duke or someplace / against someone stupid.

2003 - got destroyed by Wake & then closed out the season with 4 in a row against #3 semiholes & #6 wru-wannabe in the bowl game.

VERY CBB'esque . . . . we win in chapel hole for the first time ever, and BEAT Louisville & dook and then crap the bed in other games against MUCH inferior opponents.

That was my only comparison.

we lost - it is how bad we looked - with the turnovers and inability to tie or take the lead in the 2nd half.

Completely terrible. Another first rate example of world-class dragon slayers one game and little better than middle schoolers the next game.

100% Tommy Bowden

Did you see how much time Steve Smith wasted on Zion Williamson?

The most important of all the little details involved in recruiting is KNOWING WHO YOU CANNOT GET. A coach has to express enough interest to take the recruit's feedback temperature, and if it's lukewarm, you stop wasting time.

I don't know why you guys think coaches have 240 hours in a week, unlimited practice time, and all the resources money can buy; and evidently they are only hampered by their own lack of interest and commitment.

What planet do you live on?

Got a question for you: which airport does Brownell fly out of on his recruiting trips? How long does it take him to get to that airport? What is the in-season recruiting window for visiting high schoolers? it's easy to be critical of any coach's recruiting without consideration for the tilted landscape.

BTW, the whole "Steve Smith embarrassing himself to an FBI informant" thing left Brownell smelling like a rose. It's inevitable that his recruiting will be more effective now.

For the first time in history, recruits know not to expect ANYTHING from Clemson's HC, (if Zion didn't get a payoff, they're not getting one either), so any interest they express to him is genuine; also, for the first time in history, whatever success he accomplishes now will be totally above suspicion from the NCAA and Tobacco Rd.

Pretty good satire, Bruh.
