old excuses about our basketball program since before most of you guys were born.
First and foremost, our problem is we rarely recruit more than one or two really talented players . Except for once in a blue moon, we can never put together a TEAM that can challenge the too of the conference. A coach can only do so much with average talent. If Dabo recruited like we do in basketball, we'd be a midlevel team in football in the ACC at best. We don't hit foul shots and we blow games because we just don't have it. It's been like this for decades. Until we solve the talent problem, we'll never make the big jump we want. Game time coaching is not why we lose out.
I blame Purnell. I thought he had a wider, national coaching recognition, and I really thought he could recruit a bigger area and bring in more highly skilled players.
