No, but Virginia has the dubious distinction of being the first # 1 overall seed to lose to a #16 seed.

Yes, 2017 UNC had 7 Ls and was a #1 seed... and won the whole thing.

Good question.

Actually a lot of #1 seeds have 6-7 Ls in the books.


Normally the weakest #1 sees are those lacking a schedule but once you start amassing 8+ loses, then they will take a weaker schedule sub 7 loss team over the 8 loss team.
