Georgia has No idea what is coming

we are just beginning to crack Chad Morris' playbook, and he is 3 steps ahead of CMR already.
Defense will be a surprise and will contribute, but the story of this game will be the Scoreboard operator being replaced for the SC State game due to arthritis problems.

I'll give the Dawgs some credit...

They have a solid team, solid coaching staff, great recruiting, & very solid play as of late. On the other hand, Clemson is also in the same boat and if you dawgs can't accept that, you're in for a RUDE awakening on Aug 31st in Death Valley.
Clemson is looking to bring the pain and make a statement. Clemson is more amped up than ever for this game & as talented as ever. We are playing at home. It is a night game in Death Valley. The odds are not looking good for the Dawgs when Boyd and Watkins heat up.
Come in a little too condfident with all this Gurley talk and we're going to make you and the SEC look really stupid on national television/GameDay...

Exactly. UGA is probably the best football team we're going to play this year. Their offense is incredible and our defense is our proven weak spot. We're going to really need to play a fantastic game on both sides of the ball if we're going to win this game.
UGA was the #2 team in the nation last year and it wasn't a mistake. They're coached well, have top-tier talent, and have recruited extremely well in recent years.
This is arguably the most excited I've ever been for a game since I arrived on campus in the fall of '04...but I'm not going to get ahead of myself and suggest we're gonna break the scoreboard. Just win the game.

Defense for them will be a bigger "weakness" than for us.

I don't buy the theory that our D sucks, btw, but I do know they have much bigger issues than we. The question then would be whether they have a better offense. At best, I think that is a wash. Therefore, we win by virtue of the better defense as long as we take care of the football.

I don't think our defense is terrible by any means...but it was extremely inconsistent last year. It really improved in the second half of the season but still had severe breakdowns against a good passing attack in NC State. Georgia's passing attack is far better than what NC State brought to the table, and brings arguably the best RB tandem in the nation.
I think our defense should be better than theirs, but ultimately we don't know much of anything about their D due to the turnover.
Don't get me wrong: I think we should win this game. My problem is people here appear to already popping bottles and planning after parties. I pray to god that our team doesn't have the same mentality or else we're gonna be looking at another Orange Bowl.
Gotta respect the opponent even if their fans are pretty scummy. I know it's not all of them but I made it to a game at Sanford while I was at Clemson and was straight up appalled by what I saw from the UGA fans (it should be noted I didn't get this vibe as much from the students).

I think your statement about their defensive personnel turnover is the key to the game. They lost a lot of guys. However, every one of those spots will be filled by a very talented player. The question is are they ready to play. Playing them the first game is an advantage for sure. Especially with the new starters playing on the road versus such a good offense. I wouldnt expect them to just lay down on defense. They will have athletes on the field.
Personally, I think this is one of the most intriguing games of the year. Two very good offenses and two defenses we dont know a lot about. Clemson seems to have less question marks on defense but its only year 2 with venables so I would still call it somewhat of an unknown commodity. I think it will be close and one defense will have to make some stops. Then again, I would not be shocked if clemson wins easy given murrays tendency to play badly in hostile enviroments. I really dont think anyone has any idea how this one may go. Glad we play on thursday so I can be sure to watch.

Well said. I think this year could be a coming out party for the junior class members Corey Crawford and Stephone Anthony. Would obviously love it if Tony Steward could stay healthy too, but I'm not sure that's ever gonna come together unfortunately. I'm very interested in seeing the young guys in the secondary, particularly the progress of Travis Blanks and to see if Mackensie Alexander can make an early impact.
Either way, I'm counting the days to kickoff.

You can't say UGAy will be the best team we beat this year since we don't yet know who we are going to be beating in Pasadena.
I'm hoping we get to humiliate Bama. I would love to see 3 of the current 4 biggest SEC teams fall to us.

Allin4CU,
In the Gamecocks defense they also beat a mediocre Clemson team from a second tier conference in their own stadium for the 4th straight year.

Does the TIGER have a limit on push-ups allowed after scores? This TIGER had better be in great shape.

@Dirtpecking Gator
Dude, you are pathetic! That same "Mediocre" Clemson team from that "second tier" Conference has been kicking Ya'll sorry A$$ES for YEARS!!
"4 in a row".....for the first time EVER in the series!! That is EVER in case you missed it the first time.
Funny how a stupid Coot brings up the "4 in a row" bull$hit, but that same stupid Coot NEVER brings up the fact that it's beem done to his team 7 times!!! That's 7 TIMES in case you missed it the first time.
I also find it amuzing that the same stupid Coot NEVER brings up the fact this HIS team still trails Clemson 65-44-4 DESPITE having the good fortune to have playrf tge first 60 YEARS of the rivalry IN Cootville!!
And heaven forbid that same stupid Coot should ever bring up 45-0 OR 63-17.....IN Columbia!!
GO THE "F" away Coot....we OWN YOU!!!
Go Tigers!!!
