Ha..bet that southern-style SEC type football really got his West coast juices going and might be a great advertisement for more Californians (like Clemson QB DJ) to come East & deep South!

I watched several of Costello's games with Stanford. (I'm one of the precious few on this forum that follows Pac 12 football). Didn't impress me that much and I thought the media overrated him.

But against LSU he clearly found a different level. Mike Leach seems to bring out the best in mediocre to slightly above-average QBs.

My doubts on Costello remain and LSU will be the peak of his season. I bet he comes down to earth as the novelty wears off "regresses to the mean". He'll still torch the SEC cellar dwellers though.

The LSU game was his 30 mins of fame.

that he had practiced harder at MSU than he ever has and keeps telling his buddies back in CA how much different the mentality is in the SEC (South).

Leach can teach anybody to sling it and Costello looked pretty dang good overall. The Bulldogs may end up losing several bc of poor defense (even though they played pretty decent overall) but I expect them to score quite a bit.
