"We have had a really good camp, a tough camp. I think the team is well prepared. We have exposed them to what we think they are going to see all throughout the season. Our guys handled that very well."

On Furman, Swinney says "I really like (Furman head coach) Clay (Hendrix.) I was impressed with their season last year and they had a heck of a run in the playoffs."

Swinney says it is stressful to watch Furman....they do a very good job schematically. "They really stress you and do a good job with play-action."

On QB competition..."Last year it wasn't close. This year is different in that we have a proven guy, a guy who started 14 games and won a conference championship. Kelly has had a tremendous year of prep since January. Trevor Lawrence is off the charts from a talent standpoint, and he demonstrated this spring he not only has talent but he also wasn't overwhelmed. Kelly was clear winner in spring."

Swinney says KB has been locked in, had a great camp, played both groups. Says KB came out on top from a grade standpoint. But Trevor did exactly what we thought he would do. A better knowledge base, mentally in a good place. The game has slowed down for him. He really had a great camp. But Kelly was most consistent.

Swinney says DE Richard Yeargin really didn't practice all camp, wasn't mentally where he needed to be. Finally cleared to play but saw the bigger picture. From a depth standpoint it doesn't affect anything because Yeargin didn't do much in camp

Swinney says OL Jackson Carman needed to change his body and get stronger, had an unbelievable summer and fall camp. Now he is in shape. "He is still a puppy but he is going to be a monster."
