- Gary Stokan: BCS contracts run two more years. If there's a plus-one or an opportunity to get involved, we want to do that. We're also looking to get involved more in the neutral games at the beginning of the year.
Gary meant to say he's looking forward to the Clemson vs. Alabama game in September!!!!

The new "#2 ACC Pick vs. #5 SEC Pick" contract for the Peach Bowl has only been around for 2-3 years. Prior to that, it used to be the #3 ACC Pick vs. #4 SEC Pick. During most of those years, you were dealing with a 9 team ACC versus a 12-team SEC so there was not as much of a disparity in the picking order or (in theory) the strength of each team.
Now that there's a bigger gap in the pick selection, the ACC needs to build on that lead. And it starts on December 31!!

Tennessee in 2003. They were ranked #6 and I am pretty sure #1 - #5 were not all SEC teams. It is the #2 pick against the #5 pick this year. Just because they are the #5 pick does not mean they are the #5 team.

until 4/5 years ago. Plus, the ACC was only a 9 team league versus a 12 team league until 3 years ago (more SEC teams to choose from). Finally, Clemson is one on the reasons the ACC record is not better because we are 2-3 against SEC teams in the Peach. Why? We played and lost to a 9-2 Miss St. with a 6-5 Clemson team, a 9-3 Auburn team with an 8-4 Clemson team, and a 9-2 LSU with a 7-4 Clemson team. Clemson was invited over ACC teams with better records because of our fans. We were underdogs in all of those games. The last trip in 2003, both team were ranked, with Tennessee in the top 10, until after the game of course.
