It’s not that big of a deal if he doesn’t let it happen again. He needs to focus his energy in positive (and legal) ways.

Remember about 15 years ago Duane Coleman slapped the Tennessee player at the coin toss with no helmet? It’s amazing how much the reaction has changed.

vividly. Two of our guys were jawing with three Vols who had come to our sideline to try and intimidate us. Duane, who was several yards away, was having none of it. He started towards the Tennesee guys, and PUT HIS HELMET ON IN ROUTE in a manner that clearly suggested to me he was not on the way to parle. As soon as he got in reach, he planted one on the kisser of a Vol. He put the Tiger back in our tanks that day. ....


The next spring, I just happened to be at one of our practices, and when he came walking by I said, "Well, if it ain't the Ole Tennessee Vol Smacker!".....Coleman smiled from ear to ear, showing off his gold teeth....
