After we beat Louisville tomorrow, will this season include

the biggest collection of wins in any Clemson basketball season?
-1st win ever in Chapel Hill -Beat Duke the very next game -Beat every Tobacco Road team -Win at #6 Louisville -Beat Colgate
The win in Chapel Hill is probably our most historic win. In my opinion the win against Duke is probably our best home win since beating UNC in 2001. Beating every Tobacco Road team is something we rarely do. And a win at Louisville would be enormous, not just because they're 6th in the country, but also because it would be fun to beat them in Louisville in both football and basketball.
I never thought this would be possible back in December, but here we are.
Go Tigers!

Why "but no?" This team has literally accomplished something

no Clemson basketball team has ever accomplished. That alone is historic, but when you add everything else in, we've been on a huge run. Probably the best run in Clemson basketball history, especially with a win tomorrow.

50% from the FT line. We hit a minor slump, it's ok. We'll be improved and ready to win at the Yum.
Also, that's the dumbest name for a basketball arena ever.

There are several young ladys on the Tiger team who could show the guys how to shoot foul shots. Great game last night against Miami. Down by 20 plus during the game and 14 beginning the fourth quarter and came back to tie it in the last minutes. Excellent foul shooting helped!

LOL!!!
It's funny that the fire Brownell haters would have been ecstatic if we would have hired Smart or even Will Wade.
They are completely oblivious to the fact that Shaka is struggling big time at Texas (a much easier coaching job than clemson) and Wade got LSU in hot water.

but I would take Smart if CBB were no longer at Clemson. Compare CBB's first 4 years at Clemson to Smart's first 4 years at Texas:
CBB - 1 NCAA Tournament Round of 64 and 1 NIT semi-final
Smart - 2 NCAA Tournament Round of 64 and 1 NIT Championship
For their careers, CBB has made the NCAA Tournament 5 times (including a Sweet 16) and the NIT 3 times in 17 seasons.
Smart has made the NCAA Tournament 7 times (including a Final Four), the NIT 1 time (won it) and the CBI one time (won it) in 10 seasons.

Shaka has underachieved at Texas.

As I mentioned in another thread where you were singing Shaka's praises:
He built his reputation at VCU, which as you know, is one of the easiest schools to make the NCAA Tournament. Since 2006-2007, which includes four different head coaches, they have made the NCAA Tournament 10 of 13 seasons. One of those misses was under Shaka, where they went to the CBI instead.
He did a great job at VCU, but so has every other coach they've had for the past couple of decades. Their Final Four run under Shaka was historic. But as we often see with pressing coaches like Shaka, Purnell, etc., that style doesn't work nearly as well in major college basketball as it did in the mid-major ranks at a school like VCU.
Despite having a huge basketball budget, at a school that supports basketball very well, Shaka has under performed at Texas. In his four full seasons at Texas, he is barely above .500 overall (71-66, a .518 winning percentage). In those four years, he is 31-41 in the Big XII, a .430 winning percentage).
In Brad's first four years at Clemson, he was 74-58 overall, a .560 winning percentage. In those four years, Brad was 32-36 in the ACC, a .470 winning percentage. This is despite Brad inheriting what I believe was a much more difficult coaching situation, at a school without nearly the financial or fan support for basketball Texas has. For someone as critical as you have been of Brad, I am surprised that you think Shaka would be an upgrade based on the above comparison.

what their path was to the Final 4 (this was the year after they didn't even make the NIT and played in the CBI), on that run as an 11 seed they beat:
11 seed USC in the first 4 6 seed Georgetown 3 seed Purdue 10 seed Florida State 1 seed Kansas
Granted they never made it past the Round of 32 after that year, but what an incredible tournament run that year.
