A better shade of orange than Clemson?!?!

Sep 16, 2018, 7:17 AM

I turned on the TV this morning to watch the local news. They were reporting about how UT gave out free tickets to hurricane F evacuees. Some evacuee said TN has a "Better shade of orange than Clemson"!

Coot....what a awful thing to wake up to.

When I was in TN a few years ago on vacation in my Clemson gear, this elderly TN fan stopped me and asked me, "That's not our TN orange is it?" I proceeded to tell her that it actually was-sort of. She asked me to explain and I told her that many yrs ago that TN wanted to start up a football program and their soon-to-be coach was a friend of our coach who asked him for help getting started. Our coach had some old severely faded uniforms we could no longer use which he agreed to donate to help them get started and hence the TN orange was born! She said she had never heard that before and as I walked off I heard her start repeating the tale to her friends. LMAO! +1

I was formally known as Furious george and have changed my name to match the name I use to call on WCCP radio.

LOL - years ago I lived in TN and was wearing CLEMSON ORANGE. I forget what the shirt said, but some UT fan asked me where they could get that UT shirt. I informed them that this shirt was CLEMSON ORANGE, not the "washed-out orange" like UT. I said that before thinking about it, and should not have done that. But the truth came out before I could stop it.

That said, our ORANGE looks better than the burnt orange at Texas too.

When your Clemson shirt fades to a TN like color....
