####### Furman soccer fans

So I'm at the Clemson/Furman game right now at Riggs. And Clemson gets a shot off that ricochets from post to post but doesn't go in. The refs review it on video and see that the Furman defender handballed it on the line to keep it out. So they call a PK for Clemson and give the Furman guy a red card.
Furman fans were all screaming their heads off that the ref couldn't review it. That that's not allowed in college soccer. Video replay has been in college soccer for 2 seasons!

I know about “F U till it’s purple”

Not sure if that is what you’re referring to or not. Regardless, the F U All the Time thing is pretty tasteless IMO. If students want to use it as a cheer that’s one thing, but on uniforms and coaches’ hats/shirts?

Why does this example prove that?

Also I love both sports and I get really tired of fans of each sport constantly feeling the need to argue about which is better. Like calm down, both can be enjoyed.

You really didn't even need to bring up soccer at all to tell us that.

I'm in my mid 30's. I'm old, just not so boring.

It's not important for me to stick to what I learned in the first 20 years of my life. I'm fine with embracing new things, if they are worthy.
I prefer football over soccer, but acting like soccer is inherently inferior, or for kids, is well... immature. One of the greatest sporting events I ever saw, if not the greatest, was Celtic beating Barcelona in 2012. Anyone who couldn't appreciate that scene has an emotional block.
When you learn about the context, it makes it even more amazing.

...name calling. Good for you...I always like a mature conversation with the younger generation.
The greatest single event I have seen AND participated can be seen below. I'm that old guy in the red shirt. I forgot to take my Geritol that day otherwise the outcome would have been different. The post futbol activities always superior to the game itself.

"hipster" "young fella." That is a shot across anyone's bow. ### for tat I say.
And since when is being in your mid-30's young? I thought that was middle-aged. Please tell all the hair that escaped my head that I'm young and that it should come back now.
Edit: LOL, it didn't let me say T I T

Your analogy is mixed up. Futbol is the intricate strategy of chess and football is the simplicity of checkers. 3 yards and a cloud of dust. ??

Now I strongly disagree with that. Football is more

complicated than soccer by a wide margin.
Anyone who played both at even the high school level will tell you that. The variables that a QB or a DB has to keep up with is way more than anything happening on a soccer field.
I play soccer still and do not play football anymore and I love soccer. But football is extremely complex, and involves many more layers of strategy.
