This seems reasonable to me.
1. Senior QB that hasn't yet proved it on the field 2. Tons of pressure going into his first start 3. Big goals that have to be accomplished early in the season. 4. A second string true freshman QB that comes highly touted with tons of skill and popular. 5. Huge team expectations
Not on the hot seat for anything he has or hasn't done but just naturally from the situation.

is the cessation of erroneous uses of the word "literally."
"Bet on" is an idiom, not a literal phrase.

being annoying and pointing out that "bet on," though a legitimate/correct phrase, is an idiom and therefore can't "literally" be done. (unless you are on top of whoever/whatever you are betting on.)
In order to correctly use "literally" in that context, you would have to sound lame and say something like, "I am literally going to wager money that Stoudt will _______."
I was certainly not suggesting you should say it that way though. Just being logical-silly.

This is the same magazine that doesn't list Coach Dabo among the top 25 coaches in college football. IF Stoudt doesn't pan out as our quarterback, the backup guy will be fabulous and the college football world will quickly forget Crabcakes!

I agree with the article...the article is saying he's on the "hot seat" since he's replacing a 3 year starter who broke just about every passing record in the ACC. To make matters worse, he's got a 5-star freshman recruit sitting behind him, ready to step in if he can't get the job done. Finally, the Tigers have won 10+ games the past three years and our fanbase aren't going to lower their expectations for success anytime soon.
I would have said he's a QB who's under very high pressure coming into the season, but I understand what they're saying.

I have mixed feelings about this one. If Watson has the tools and learns the O thenI might give him the nod, but it is Cole's job to lose. If they are close in skill then you have to balance the need to do well in 2014 (team) with the benefits of Watson learning the offense now so he is that much better in 2015.

I actually believe that Cole is going to do just fine. Tajh was there before Cole, and with Tajh's success, it wasn't going to happen for Cole then. It is his time now, and I'm sure he is ready and more than willing to face his doubters by proving the doubters wrong. Gooooo Cole!!!

Here is the thing. Give Cole a shot. If he messes it up then there is no retry. He has came in and played for us and done well. Only vs team though that have been blows out and has faced several team 2nd team. He has yet to play against a FSU,UGA, or SCAR caliber team. My thing is. Watson is the future for next 3-4 years. Why not go ahead and throw him in now so he will be a true stud in 2015,and 2016? Option 1 Cole Stays healthy and full season and Watson Redshirts or option B. Watson starts from day one….

But in reality, if we lose at UGA and at FSU, why would you not move to Watson. At that point, you probably aren't going to a BCS game, you aren't winning the ACC or NC. Why not let Watson get that season to develop?
