Our World will change immensely from this virus..

causing many changes in people’s lifestyle, futures, finances, reasons to live or think the same way as before, create new inventions, make new millionaires & paupers alike..
and probably cause President Trump to be defeated, leftist political agendas to not only to be championed but implemented (like: you name them)..
and a period of 10-15 years to get back to normancy imho. Whoa, who could have seen this?!
Oh, college football & it’s fan bases will be affected too what with the portals, players rights, head injury concerns, tighter budgets, etc

I think this will develop a lot of germophobes

A lot of pre covid germophobes had finally accepted a fist bump as a proper greeting. That will be gone and from here on, men will start bowing like the Japanese and women will start doing a curtsy. Post covid conceptions will all be done in a lab instead of the old fashioned bump n' grind.

Bill.... I have thought a lot about how this will change my work and career and desire to work as hard as I can. I am an engineer and am busy as I have ever been and am fortunate to be able to let the office folks work from home so that I am the only one going into the office for the last few weeks.
I am struggling with how we can keep on keeping on, and some folks can’t work at all. I am struggling more with how some folks in our industry (design and construction) don’t seem to have skipped a beat and are still riding my rear end like the world is gonna end if I don’t have drawings or whatever it is they want to them by tomorrow 8 AM!!!
You have a few years on me, but I would like to think this virus has given me more of your perspective in a very quick period of time. I am slowly learning that work isn’t the beginning and the end.....you gotta enjoy life along the way!
I hope for health and peace and football!!! Along with following the tigers all over the place, I help to coach a local 8th grade team... if we don’t have football this fall, I am going to have ALOT of time to fill....just not with work!
Go Tigers

Hopefully we all use this to realize how precious life is and how important our friends and family are to us.
As Americans we always rise to the occasion to be better at loving, giving and helping one another. Our Nation was built on freedom, liberty and the right to worship as we wish under Almighty God.
I look forward to a new normal that will be better than ever because we cherish our freedoms, liberty, right to worship and everything Clemson/sports.

One thing that will accelerate is the trend toward automation. It will go into overdrive. I used to think it would happen over a much longer period than some forecast, but we'll see now. Previously, economics was the sole driving force behind it but safety is now a huge consideration.
Manufacturing, the food industry, health care and probably even construction will require less human to human contact.
Human civilization will start changing uncomfortably fast. If you define pre-C19 as "normal", I have news for you: 10-15 years from now we'll be farther from it than ever.

I am going to have a tough time going back onto the office now that I can control our entire network, and log into my machine at the office to work remotely. I am thinking about moving to Palm beach and doing this work from home thing on a full time basis after.

Working remotely is going to absolutely explode. Old fashioned mid/lower level managers who want to see everyone in the office every day regardless of function will be overruled from above and hopefully forced to retire.

As well it should... Unfortunately because they'll realize those managers for the most part weren't needed. Will be a ton of IT jobs. Yay, more Indians.

I’m getting way more work done now that I’m working from home. Our old managers were against fully working from home. Those people are going the way of the dinosaurs. We are automating as much I.T. as possible. Going to the cloud. Very exciting times when the old get out of the way. And....I’m not from India btw. You guys might not like them but companies sure like paying that cheaper hourly rate...

Not to be the devil's advocate, but I don't think the changes will be drastic. Sure more people working remotely (but that has already been building over the last few years), but I think one year from now things will be pretty much back to normal. I fully expect to be eating out again, going to sporting events, buying toilet paper when you need it, shaking hands with business people, hugging my friends and family, grilling out with neighbors, getting medical procedures done when needed, being able to visit and hug my 91 year old parents, going on cruises and other vacations, and my son starting his freshman year at Clemson.

I was talking to someone earlier about the long term ramifications of this pandemic. I think it will be similar to 9/11. But this will effect people’s finances much more, and for a longer period of time

Some good and some bad will come of it. We will change forever though and it will help the right and the left in various ways. It will help tbe right with tight borders and tough immigration. It will help the left with better safety nets and just looking out for the American worker more.

The Big One, WWI was portent of the war to end all others...

The closer this tiny speck in an ever expanding Universe comes together, the further it will drive us apart.
And no, I'm not speaking of basic social distancing.
How do you think people responded to the prospect of imminent doom? They gobbled it up like a chocolate eclair! They didn't fear their demise, they re-packaged it. It could be enjoyed as video-games, as TV shows, books, movies, the entire world wholeheartedly embraced the apocalypse and sprinted towards it with gleeful abandon.

We will have forgotten this by the fall. We Americans are patient, but can only take so much. Even if it comes back, it will be difficult to do this again.
Trump will be elected in a landslide.
The economy is waiting to roar back.

I’m with you on this. The most important thing in this country is money. At some point we should call this thing off and let it play out. Bill orielly said it best the other day when he pointed out that most of the people dieing off had one foot in the grave anyway. Every man for himself and the strong will come out on top. I’m ready for my 401k to rock again
