have to look elsewhere for objectivity. P.Johnson v. Kevin Steele is not good for the home team. I hate it, but it is true.

TN picking a Clemson win in spite of PJ owning coach Booboo. Imagine that.
X's and O's matter, as well as coaching. Matters more than talent at Clemson, because if anything's been learned about Clemson it's the fact that poor coaching trumps quality talent every time. Too bad few, if any, have realized this.

putting GT in a 1st and 25 on their last drive. Tigers get interception to seal it late. Go Tigers!

X's & O's matter. Teams beat GT with DEs bookending the QB

The other day Bowers said: "I just have to read my keys and do my job. My job is to squeeze down on the tackle and take out the fullback. I have to crash in on him and make sure he’s down on every play." http://www.tigernet.com/view/story.do?id=9008
If that's true, then I'm afraid that Kevin Steele's scheme won't work. With Clemson's solid DL, outstanding DEs, and marginal LBs, I think Steele needs to have the DEs bookend the QB, disrupt the pitch, and knock the snot out of the QB whether he pitches, passes, or keeps. You open yourself up to the midline a bit but you gotta pick your poison and that's the poison I'd pick with Clemson's defensive personnel.
Powell is worried about Ellington getting hit 25 times per game? Hit Nesbitt 60 times per game and see how he does.
Watch the NCSU-GT game (replay) on ESPN3 if you want to see how to slow down GT's option. The DEs bookended Nesbitt almost every play, rarely allowed the play to get to the perimeter, and forced at least one pitch to the ground. The few times that GT got around the DEs and got to the perimeter, they hurt NCSU badly (as they hurt Clemson badly on the perimeter last year-- especially in the ACCCG).
If Bowers is on the FB dive, I'm afraid GT will rack up big yardage on the perimeter all day long.
Go Tigers!!!

so true razz. i think it will be better 2 let jenkins and chavis and the mlb handle the fb and have the ends and olbs handle the perimeter and walk mcdainel down and let him roam and spy since he's the best tackler. clemson 30-24
Go Tigers

I want Clemson to win, too, but ever argument in your article favors Tech!!!! To pick Clemson after this write-up is just homerism. The game will boil down to if we are plus 2 in turnover margin in the game, we win. Otherwise, we lose. Saves a lot of words!!!

Why isn't there more outrage about the coaching edge?

Not a single prediction this year has picked Clemson coaches as the favorite. Yet no one has ever disputed it.
