I bought some caffeine chewing gum in an attempt

Aug 15, 2018, 9:10 AM

to stop drinking so much Red Bull.

I'll keep you updated on how it affects my digestive system as the day goes on.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I use it from time to time

Aug 15, 2018, 9:11 AM

No explosive cha cha cha.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We'll see.

Aug 15, 2018, 9:12 AM

I have a pretty weak constitution for anything that isn't as bland as white rice.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You drink Red Bull?

Aug 15, 2018, 9:12 AM

I’m gotta be honest here, I didn’t realize there were adults that drank Red Bull. I’m assuming not the fully leaded sugared one, right? You’d be dead if you drank a few of those daily.

Def sugar free

Aug 15, 2018, 9:14 AM

I'll normally drink one in the am and sometimes one in the afternoon if the first one didn't take.

Later, I'll sometimes mix the second one with vodka to help smooth out the afternoon.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't think the gum works anywhere near as well as finding

Aug 15, 2018, 9:14 AM

a good Colombian drug cartel connection would.

I've been contemplating becoming a dealer for them when I'm

Smart.

Multi-level marketing is a great way to be your own boss!

ringofhonor-rhtig.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, the flavor lasted a little longer than super bubble

Aug 15, 2018, 9:17 AM

bubble gum.

On to piece #2.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

get some no-doz

Aug 15, 2018, 9:18 AM

makes it way easier

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Adderall is the easiest answer here.***

that requires a prescription***

Aug 15, 2018, 9:31 AM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I wish that ish would have been around when I was in college

Aug 15, 2018, 9:33 AM [ in reply to Adderall is the easiest answer here.*** ]

At my age now, I'm not sure how I'd ask a Dr to give me a prescription for it.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I tried...it was awkward***

Aug 15, 2018, 9:34 AM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did you get it?

Aug 15, 2018, 9:34 AM

What did you tell him/her?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did not. told them i had a short attention span and trouble

Aug 15, 2018, 9:36 AM

focusing. They directed me to another doctor so I gave up. Whole point was to get it for the wife while she was studying for the CPA

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It probably depends on your PCP and the relationship

Aug 15, 2018, 9:44 AM

you have with him/her. I was actually diagnosed with ADD sometime after college, but the non-stimulants I got way back then didn't do anything noticeable. I asked my PCP about it probably 4 years ago, and he was fine with trying whatever. Gave me Ritalin, and I pretty much hated it, made me way too jumpy and anxious. Tried Adderall next, it seems to work pretty well. I don't come close taking all 60 that are prescribed for a month, even with a few friends that bum them on weekends for recreational use.

The "I was diagnosed with ADD" bit would probably carry a little weight if you had that discussion; at worst, your doc would give you a quick question/answer test to see if you actually have the symptoms, and the answers are pretty obvious if you want to steer the results.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-19b.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

When you say "PCP", I'm assuming that whatever

Aug 15, 2018, 9:49 AM

PA is working the day I go into a Doctor's Care for a sore throat doesn't count?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Probably not. You have regular appointments with a regular

Aug 15, 2018, 9:50 AM

doc though, right?

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-19b.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why would I do that?

Aug 15, 2018, 9:50 AM

I'm not sick.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Fine, we'll add doctors to the list of things you hate.

Aug 15, 2018, 9:55 AM

But for serious, regular bloodwork (like, yearly) and checkups at our advanced ages would be more than a little recommended by sane people.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-19b.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't hate them.

Aug 15, 2018, 9:57 AM

I'll make it to them the couple times a year when I get an infected ear, tonsillitis, or something that I need antibiotics for.

They are just like mechanics; if you keep taking your car to them, eventually, they find something wrong.

As for bloodwork...I get my cholesterol checked at a wellness thing for work yearly, and I already know I probably drink too much. My wife gets on me about not going to the doctor; maybe I'll start I guess.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Good thing it wasn't AD&D***

Hey A912. I didn't know you like to get wet.

The beginning of A912®'s relationship with PCP

S??? ????? ???? ??? ??????? ?????? ???? ??? ??????,
S??? ????? ?? ?? ???????? ???? ? ??????? ??? ????? ?????..

I took it once in college. Friend had a skript.

Aug 15, 2018, 1:44 PM [ in reply to Did not. told them i had a short attention span and trouble ]

He told me to take half of one, although the bottle said a whole. He said if I had never taken it, start with half. So, naturally I took the whole pill. Went to the library to study for my BIO104 cumulative final exam. All I needed to do was know everything in a 600-page book and memorize 157 pages of notes for the exam.

Went to my basement corner desk in the library. 9 hours later, after 2 bathroom breaks, I went back to my room in Johnstone (at 4am). Woke up at 8 and took the exam.

Made a freaking 99. Tied some other Indian/Pakistani dude for highest grade of the 150 or so in the class.

Never took it again. Thought my heart was going to explode. MAJOR wired. But....it works. Of that I have zero doubt.
