You drink Red Bull?

I’m gotta be honest here, I didn’t realize there were adults that drank Red Bull. I’m assuming not the fully leaded sugared one, right? You’d be dead if you drank a few of those daily.

I'll normally drink one in the am and sometimes one in the afternoon if the first one didn't take.
Later, I'll sometimes mix the second one with vodka to help smooth out the afternoon.

At my age now, I'm not sure how I'd ask a Dr to give me a prescription for it.

It probably depends on your PCP and the relationship

you have with him/her. I was actually diagnosed with ADD sometime after college, but the non-stimulants I got way back then didn't do anything noticeable. I asked my PCP about it probably 4 years ago, and he was fine with trying whatever. Gave me Ritalin, and I pretty much hated it, made me way too jumpy and anxious. Tried Adderall next, it seems to work pretty well. I don't come close taking all 60 that are prescribed for a month, even with a few friends that bum them on weekends for recreational use.
The "I was diagnosed with ADD" bit would probably carry a little weight if you had that discussion; at worst, your doc would give you a quick question/answer test to see if you actually have the symptoms, and the answers are pretty obvious if you want to steer the results.

Fine, we'll add doctors to the list of things you hate.

But for serious, regular bloodwork (like, yearly) and checkups at our advanced ages would be more than a little recommended by sane people.

I'll make it to them the couple times a year when I get an infected ear, tonsillitis, or something that I need antibiotics for.
They are just like mechanics; if you keep taking your car to them, eventually, they find something wrong.
As for bloodwork...I get my cholesterol checked at a wellness thing for work yearly, and I already know I probably drink too much. My wife gets on me about not going to the doctor; maybe I'll start I guess.

He told me to take half of one, although the bottle said a whole. He said if I had never taken it, start with half. So, naturally I took the whole pill. Went to the library to study for my BIO104 cumulative final exam. All I needed to do was know everything in a 600-page book and memorize 157 pages of notes for the exam.
Went to my basement corner desk in the library. 9 hours later, after 2 bathroom breaks, I went back to my room in Johnstone (at 4am). Woke up at 8 and took the exam.
Made a freaking 99. Tied some other Indian/Pakistani dude for highest grade of the 150 or so in the class.
Never took it again. Thought my heart was going to explode. MAJOR wired. But....it works. Of that I have zero doubt.
