back in August...found an OEM part WITH the req'd tools on eBay for like $16.

Found video on youtube...watched it first so that there were no 'surprises'

I did it in about an hour...no probs.

the hardest part was finding THIN double sided tape, which I'm sure it's necessity is on a per phone basis...(hint: the radio shack doods use it in the back to fix phones....go give a little winky winky and a quick cup-check, and they'll hook you up)

Oh...and finding an hour of undisturbed / coherent time was tricky too.

AND...i've gotta do it again, since I cracked it again not even a week later. Not in a rush this time, as it's a much smaller web of cracks, and hasn't hindered the touchscreen at all

critical question

Cup check them, or yourself ?

the little plastic clips and connectors break in your fingers and ruin your device.

If I might be so bold as to make a suggestion....

Dec 3, 2013, 9:43 AM

use a sheet of anodized aluminum instead of glass and you won't have any breakage issues in the future.
