question for recruit genuises

Jan 7, 2015, 3:50 PM

I not a big follower of recruiting just kinda keep up with it. Only the past few years I have heard about early enrollees, how long has this been going on?

Early enrollment at Clemson has been catching fire. The Tigers have just about doubled last years January football signee enrollment. Being able to get acclimated early to college life and participate in Spring Practice gives these student athletes an incredible advantage over arriving in July for the fall season. These students give up their last semester of High School which is a long term sacrifice that is not an easy decision. Let's not forget that it is very difficult to move away from home at such an young age and give up all the benefits of a final high school semester.

It has been going on longer than 2 years.

Bowers was an early enrolee (sp) back in 2008 I believe.

When I was in high school back around 1999, I had classmates finishing a semester early by taking their English over the summer. So heck, maybe it has been going on since then.
