No biscuits to be had at those establishments - need to set your mind on buttermilk, not on confectioner's sugar...
All seriousness, they are "specialized" at different things. For coffee, *$ wins hands down. For traditional glazed doughnuts, KK wins hands down. For cake doughnuts, DD wins hands down. Use this information wisely - need to optimally nourished for Gametime in Death Valley.

Krispy Kreme for donuts, obviously, especially if you can get them fresh off the line.. with Dunkin' Donuts a distant second, though a totally respectable option if you're into their style.

Yes, a connoisseur can extract maximum flavor from a custom, careful roast of their own beans...but this is a fast good discussion, and you gotta at least admit that *$ coffee is vastly superior to the average drive thru drip! I like to appreciate finely crafted products, but I don't ever want to refine my palate and tastes to the point where I can't at least nominally enjoy inexpensive coffee, beer, wine, etc. Don't lose touch with the simple things as you explore the finer ones, I say...
