how did 3 SEC teams get in to the BCS?

im not as up on the rules here, but I thought it could only be two, that should have been AL, and FL... can someone explain?

I think it's two teams, excluding the team in the Championship game.

Cotton Bowl is not a BCS bowl.

that stated this as the 5th BCS bowl, just a "BCS" atmosphere like our game
