hoops: Virginia beats Rutgers 45-26.....no misprint

Nov 30, 2014, 12:29 PM

Rutgers scored 26 points in an entire game. Rutgers was actually leading at halftime. They scored 8 points in the second half.

12 of 48 FGs
0 for 13 3 pointers.

We play Rutgers Monday night.

Wow they've also lost to George Washington and a 2-5 saint peters (no clue where that is) team, looks like a game we should win if we want to be good

They did beat Vanderbilt Friday night in the first game of the Barclay Classic in Brooklyn. But they had two back to back games Friday and Saturday night, and just one day in between to travel for tomorrow. We should win if Hall is back and we play typical good defense.

St. Peter's is a tiny school in Jersey City, NJ. It a perennial whipping boy.

I watched the game. It should have been a lot worse. UVA players looked tired, they came up short on a ton of wide open 3 balls. That and the refs were letting UVA's post players get mugged inside until the second half. Our defense isn't as good as UVA's, but after watching that Rutgers team we should have no problem with them. Should being the operative word. If we work the ball around like UVA did then we should get some wide open looks for shooters on the perimeter. We just have to knock them down, something UVA didn't do.

Don't laugh...

The way we shoot sometimes we might have trouble scoring 26 in a game
