If there's one person who has no room to talk it's TB

Unless I miss my guess it was under his watch that we first created and enforced the "Pulling a Clemson". He made bone headed decisions at times that left Clemson fans scratching their heads and losing on the field.

At least he has the good sense to throw Swofford under the bus, as nobody else currently in the conference seems to have the courage to do.

Too bad. It woulda been nice to see Bowden give an honest opinion that was not pro-Swofford. Seems like the existing conference officials/coaches are too afraid of what he'll do to do anything but blow smoke up his derriere.

The blame statement at the end is not what is important here. His point on perception and recruiting is spot on. The less money the ACC as a whole takes in, the less the ACC football as a whole performs. And thus, the less top rated recruits want to play for a team in that conference. How many ESPN150 athletes sign with Big East schools, or worse? The ACC is very close to being in those ranks.

Look at the ACC's bowl record. That is the reason we are getting left behind. The commisioner isn't the reason the ACC is not winning. Winning cures all and the commisioner is not helping us win, but what leverage are the ACC football schools giving him to work with? It's a perspective a lot of you need to at least look at. I know it's hard not to jump on the hate swofford bandwagon and discredit anything TB says because he was fired, but the truth is the truth sometimes.

And Tommy, last I checked you didn't hold up your end of the bargain. You said you needed more money, better facilities and a long term contract. It got us a sub par and a middle of the road record. I'm surprised even you as arrogant as you are would even comment on this

Ol' Tommy knows about bargains . . .
Jun 7, 2012, 12:30 PM
|
|
He agrees with TDP that Clemson needs a new direction mid-season '08 and collects $3 million to build on ocean front property in Panama City, after leveraging Ar-kansas in the buyout with said TDP. What a bargain! lol
“I think football has not upheld their end of the bargain so you are looking somewhere to throw blame so you push it up to the commissioner John Swofford and their philosophies. “

that Auburn laid on you in 2010's SECCG, nor was he responsible for the ACC's runnerup dominating you in the Chik-Fil-A Bowl.

he can only sell the product that his teams put on the field. He might have got more than you were worth given the lopsided loss to a much less funded Big East team.

just various aspects of the ACC which adversely affect Clemson. He is the commissioner of the ACC
YOU'RE the one who brought up the loss to WVa and, of course, it was nothing more than a stupid chickentroll comment/slam at Clemson having absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.
Why the moderators continue to allow you access to this board escapes the intelligent reader.

I mean "drool into your cereal bowl" stupid, to walk into a TV negotiation for a 14-team, representing-the-entire-eastern-side-of-the-country conference and say "Well, ESPN, Clemson really laid an egg...I guess we'll get a couple million dollars less per school per year on this 15 year agreement because of one game."
Your argument is so dumb it makes my head hurt.
You are actually defending the competence of John Swofford by saying that he is the world's worst negotiator. That he would actually let one game impact a 15 year television contract of a 14 team conference. Even I don't think John Swofford is THAT stupid. And I think he's pretty stupid.
