as an old guy, I really dislike the targeting rule

and the way it is being enforced. Way too random. Maybe should go back to more ref discretion ? If it looks like a duck... Probably wouldn't work either... That said - question for parents of younger kids- - are you having 2nd thoughts about your son playing football ? Even as a fan of old school football, I am imagining more difficult conversations around dinner tables, especially with Moms.

Headhunting should be called more often. Some of those Bama hits against Clemson in 2016 were nuts. Obvious leading with head down trying to hit hard should be ejection.
But glancing contact or where the head happens to get in the way during a tackle seems overboard. Perhaps the damage is the same, but it seems like an overreach.
Looking back at some Johnny Lynch or Ronnie Lott NFL hits make me wince nowadays.

agree on your take ! go back a little further and watch jack tatum or some of those guys. Prison rules ! Insane. Was fun to watch, but it really is hard to ignore the head injury evidence. Honestly not sure how I would play it now as a parent.
