Someone else wishes Oliver Purnell never left Clemson....

every DePaul fan in the universe.
Knew Purnell's record since he took the midnight train to Chicago was bad, but I didn't realize how bad. The Blue Demons are 12-14 thus far and I imagine Ollie will be looking for employment come April. Tiger fans have my word....If Coach Brownell starts posting these kind of numbers, I'll personally telephone Mr. Radakovich and recommend a new staff)
(Year.................overall..conf...conf rank) DePaul (Big East Conference) (2010–present) 2010-11 DePaul 7–24 1–17 16th 2011-12 DePaul 12–19 3–15 16th 2012-13 DePaul 11–21 2–16 15th 2013-14 DePaul 12–21 3–15 10th DePaul: 42–77 (.353) 9–57 (.136)

Well hopefully in April we beg him to come back.
But the majority of this board is too stupid to realize how great that would be.
You down with OPP?

You don't want to be a consistently ranked, NCAA tournament team that competes for ACC titles?

Consistently ranked in Dec and Jan and watched freefall when not playing weaker out of conference schools.
Competing for ACC titles? Seriously? He took one team his senior led, 4 year seniors no doubt to one ACC title in his tenure. Then his team started to drop like stones as he could not recruit better basketball players.
NCAA consistently... That is debatable bc he ain't done it in Chicago a basketball mecca.
Down with OP? No. He took the D job as his retirement jo . The man can no longer raise anything from ashes. That was his forte... Rescuing programs.
Are you one of folks on this board that you speak so highly of? Too what to know it?

He left Clemson because his salary was tripled. Who on this board wouldn't leave for that opportunity. I miss Clemson basketball that was fun to watch and I miss caring more about the ACC and NCAA tournaments (I know he didn't win a ncaa game but it was nice to be in every year. Plus making it to championship game of ACC tournament)

His salary was not tripled.

His contract at Clemson was right at 1.3 million. His Depaul contract was for 1.8 million.
That's not to say that difference is insignificant, but not even in the same ballpark as tripling his salary.

He left Clemson b/c he was dipping his biscuit in someone's tea (not his wife's)

lol isn't that the same reason Barnes was run out of town too? OPP was cool but he's ultimately not the answer. We are in the ACC and that should still mean something.

And that tea belonged to a certain Clemson coach's wife. He got the hell out before he was run out of town on a rail.

His last rebuilding project not going so well. Nice guy however, did bring excitement to Littlejohn. I do not believe he has ever won a NCAA tourney game, could be wrong on that.

He left for a few reasons Skeeter. But the main reason was a mandate from his spouse. Surely, you can figure the rest of this story out!
