What a horrible situation they faced.

I know everyone’s supposed to love nuclear, but judging by how costly and difficult it is to build these plants, you have to wonder if the potential risk of catastrophe is really worth it.

A lot to look forward to, IMHO. Increased safety is a big plus, but more importantly, some designs actually able to consume the nuclear waste in the fission reaction.

Most of that stuff is over my head but from what I’ve read of them (and understand) they look like a real game changer both in safety and price.
