Wrong Tigers have the CFB Belt

From time to time I notice you guys have brought up the College Football "Belt" - the "linear" championship which, like the heavyweight boxing belt, can only be passed from one team to another via head-to-head wins. Sometimes it's in the hands of the official national champions, sometimes not. For example, throughout the 2019 season Ohio State was in possession of the belt (thanks to a chain of events following Clemson's loss to Syracuse in 2017), while Clemson was recognized as the CFP national champs. Clemson was the next team to beat Ohio State (in the playoffs), meaning the CU Tigers had the belt - and a chance to reunify the title - going into the game with LSU.

Sadly, the wrong Tigers won the CFP championship game, so the belt - and the crystal football - are reunited, but reside in the wrong place - Baton Rouge, LA. How long will LSU hold onto the belt? Considering how much they lost off last year's team, I doubt they hold it all season - which means there's a good chance it does NOT end up in the hands of the CFP national champs in 2021.
