Would a 10-2 season with a win over coots and loses

Aug 31, 2014, 8:18 AM

on the road to two potentially top 5 teams, and then maybe a good bowl win for 11-2 be a disaster?

I think that is entirely possible. We just went toe to toe with a potentially top 5 team at their house. Why throw in the towel now with so much still in front of us and obvious SIGNS of some serious young talent on our roster?

I would take that in a heartbeat***

Is it that far fetched? Do people understand the gap

Aug 31, 2014, 8:21 AM

between the UGA roster and the average ACC team's roster we are going to play?

We are winning @ FSU with DW. We could have beat georgia if Chad & Dabo stepped up to the plate and made some moves. Very disappointed in them. Our Defense played lights out, the outcome was inevitable 3 & out after 3 & out and punting the ball right to them.

see you in tallahassee.

Can you actually trust that Dabo and Chad will make those moves?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You have an entirely different view of "lights out" than I

Defense played average. 482 yards and 45 points is NOT lights out.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Skewed numbers

Aug 31, 2014, 8:48 AM

@150 of those yards and TWENTY ONE points in the 4th.

After being on the field the entire 3rd quarter and only giving up 3 points.

Something had to give.

No, Chad Morris said he threw in the towel in the 2nd half last night. Not for the rest of the season. Just this one game. Relax!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's very possible to win all but FSU game

Aug 31, 2014, 8:25 AM

Even though it looked like FSU had some defensive bugs in the Ok State game they didn't have last year, they still look like more of a handful than UGA. They just don't have an endless supply of fresh backs like the Dawgs. Tough to win.

But I expect us to drop out of the rankings after this one. And even if we win out after FSU, I wonder how far back into the ranks we will get. So I don't expect a great bowl game. I guess any bowl game should make us feel good, though. Especially after going 10-2 regular season.

"They just don't have an endless supply of fresh backs like the dawgs..."

Have you looked at FSU's depth chart? Because they do have an endless supply of fresh RBs.

Far from it.I have said all along that we would probably lose those two opening road games.Winnig out after that ,while tough is possible.
For me,a diaster would be going 9-3 with loses to UGA,FSU and the coots. You would almost, imo, have to start all over from scratch to regain any confidence in the program.
Where I would differ with you is on your assessement of the UGA game.We went toe to toe in the first half, but were basically non existent in the second half.
Still the FSU game is going to be pivotial.Lose,as I suspect, and we have nowhere to go but up because we will not be in the top 25 after that game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think we are already out of the Top 25

Aug 31, 2014, 8:36 AM

Every team below us won I'm pretty sure. If we had lost a close game maybe some would vote us higher. To me we just confirmed all the talk about how our offense is still inexperienced and finding itself. Vegas figured it out too and pushed the line yesterday before the game.

But by the end of the season we hopefully have a fully ready Dye back and Gallman and Choice have a number of snaps under their belt. That's the way we will beat SCar. And after that we certainly get a decent bowl game. Just not one of the playoff selected ones I'm guessing.

I just don't understand how we are already giving ourself a L vs FSU. Should we just sell our tickets and forfeit? Last time I checked, we have a pretty #### good defense if they can get some rest. We have some stud WR's and TE's if they can be used. We have a QB that is a true freshman where the future looks pretty #### bright if he can get some reps. Only ? mark is the OL. I want to see Adam Choice get some carries as well.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A 24 point loss is going toe to toe? WOW. I bet you didnt

Aug 31, 2014, 8:40 AM

think that when A&M beatdown the coots by 24 points.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It was tie at half and was 24-21 with 8 to go in game, the

Aug 31, 2014, 8:44 AM

A&M game wasn't close from go.

You have to actually watch games to comment on them, give it a try.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I missed that before I posted a minute ago in this thread

Aug 31, 2014, 8:51 AM

You're absolutely right. 23 minutes of game time into second half and we STILL had only given up 24 points. 17 against the D really.

The lack of production by the O just finally caught up to the defense.

We have to fix that. I am all for being moral, but the high ground (loyalty to seniors) doesn't win games.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We did not go toe to toe

Aug 31, 2014, 8:52 AM

We got wore down and routed at the end.
We have no legit running backs and Cole Stoudt is a career backup QB playing starter
We got beat down by a much better team.
No TigerNet pumpers gonna find a silver lining
Let Morris take over the team and let Dabo take over the cheerleaders
It all starts in practice
I did not think we were ready and we weren't
